I don't know who just bought me six months of paid time (which would be the point of an anonymous gift), but thank you!

Since Harry Potter fans are nothing if not thorough, let me know if someone posts a GOF transcript, or a really thorough recap. Not the shooting script--scripts are great fun, but if you're trying to, uh, "deal with" the film as it appeared on screen, after edits and changes and rewrites, scripts aren't going to help. I'm probably going to see GOF again, but it's a long movie, and I don't know if you've ever tried taking notes in the dark, but it sucks.

I really do feel bad about not posting anything online in nearly a year. See, on one hand, I haven't posted anything since POTO in January; on the other hand, I churned out ten parodies this year, which was more than last year. So it's sort of this simultaneous feast and famine. But I never intended for the online parodies to dry up entirely, so I'm going to try and think of something. I don't want to post anything really--let's say "promising"--in case there's another book in my future, because anything that allows me to earn money writing means that I get to spend more time writing, and that's good for you and for me. But Chamber of Secrets was on ABC last night, and I know a lot of people keep writing to complain that I "skipped" that one, so maybe that would be a good one to post online. Unfortunately, as I was watching it, I felt no stirrings of funny at all, but I think I'm at a low ebb this week or something.

I haven't had this problem lately, but please remember: I know you want to be helpful, but I can't read any parody links that you send me, because I have to protect myself legally, in an intellectual property sense. I know it might seem helpful to send me XYZ's parody to show me how they did it, but... it's not.

Goblet of Fire grosses $101.5 M its first three days, a record for November surpassing the previous high-grosser--Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Coincidentally, I just posted my take on the venom cock book (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rachelmanija/231933.html), as I found it in a bookshop yesterday and flipped through it while waiting in line for George R. R. Martin to sign my book. Short version: OMGWTFeeeeeew!

When I was watching Goblet of Fire, i couldn't help but think of the O RLY owls whenever I saw them.

Cho: I'm sorry Harry, but someone already asked me to the ball.
Harry: O RLY!
Cho: YA RLY!
Harry: PWNED... ;_;

Okay, that thing about the "O RLY?" owls is kind of eerie...because just the other day I got bored and made a series of crappy "O RLY?" icons with the Lost characters. Smaaall world O_o....

Regarding the RENT wank: I know nothing about the play/movie except for what I've seen in the movie trailers. But I was watching one of the trailers a few days ago, and I swear at one point I thought, "Those two guys look like they're gay."

So, you know, make of that what you will.

I just saw HP #4 and have only one question: since when does Hogwarts have a pep band?

And you should feel absolutely no pressure to crank out a GoF in 15 min. You gave us a book, and while another M15M would be lovely, I don't think we'll be banging down your door for one.

I loved the Harry Potter titles.

Considering some of the terrible fan fics I've seen sporked over the last few months, I'm now thinking of a few to add:

Harry Potter, Snape, and the dirty, wrong secret.

Harry Potter teaches Hermione a new use for Mandrake.

Harry Potter and the magic speculum.

Harry Potter and the goblet of GHB.

Harry Potter and Dumbledorf get jiggy wit it.

Harry Potter the sorcerer gets loaned.

Harry Potter and the American Transfer Student.

Harry Potter and the Mary Sue with Kaleidoscope eyes.

Harry Potter and his sexy new magical broom.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Multiple Slash Pairings.

Gods save us all from the perils of bad fan fics, squicky, bizarre pairings, and other evils of the fandom!

^linkspam! This thing looks like a cross between a bike and a skateboard - we'll be seeing them on the streets within six months, at least, we will in Australia - the Merkins will be a bit behind. But it serves them right for having all the movies released there first, even when they're not american movies, and sometimes aren't released in Australia AT ALL*coughMirrormaskcough* uh, excuse me. Got a bit carried away there. But, yes, the Streetsurfer looks much the funky.

Those Harry Potter titles were so frickin funny. I particularly liked Harry Potter and the Uneventful Year When No One Tried to Kill Him. And they should totally make Harry Potter and the Lil Bratz.

And man...Chris Klein really IS an asshat. I'll never respect his character's relative maturity in American Pie ever again.

People suggested HP7 titles. While a lot of them are serious (and many repeated) there are quite a few comedic gems:
Harry Potter and the Only Haircut in 7 Years
Harry Potter and the End of Trees, Due to How Long this New Book Is
Harry Potter and the Interesting Magazine That He Found Under Sirius' Bed Which Left Nothing to the Imagination
Harry Potter and if you are still Reading this I Applaud you
