I'm kind of limp and draggy today which is absolutely fine because I plan to do NOT A DAMN THING TODAY. I finished my final proof yesterday (I still have to check a DVD for a few things, blah blah finishing touches blee but ALL THE LINKS HAVE BEEN CLICKED and ALL THE CROSS-REFERENCES HAVE BEEN CHECKED, hallelujah), and I pretty much plan on having pancakes for lunch and watching Hitchcock movies all afternoon. If I am very lucky, there might even be bacon.

Also, I think my mother feels kind of guilty about the Cleo Saves Her Family initiative, because she saw a guy selling jewelry at the [university center] yesterday and picked up a couple of moonstones for me. The key is from the 1890s; I don't know why the guy was selling keys, but he was, and Black Ribbon starts in 1889, so that's why she got it for me. Aw.

Awww, your mother sounds like mine. She's always picking me up little inexpensive but awesome trinkets, like used books (an ARC of a posthumously-published Madeleine L'Engle novel turned up at our Goodwill somehow!) and, recently, a pair of gorgeous vintage key earrings. Mothers are the shiniest.

And now my husband is sick and needed advice over the phone from our doctor and we had to sic the insurance company on him to get him to effing come to the phone, and the way my husband phrased it was that I needed to be your mom. You know, get all "this is not acceptable" on the doctor's assistants and threaten them with the Wrath of BlueCross/Blue Shield of Illinois.

I have been looking for a decent moonstone pinkie ring for about four or so years now. The one I had crushed, and then I bought another one which was more in scale with my other rings and the stone fell out! I have yet to find one...

The girl, Laura, is on a date with a guy she found on the internet. I held off on reccing you this until it was an official Twilight parody.
