The triumph of trompe l'oeil! He's definitely got some help via airbrush there. It will be interesting to see what it ends up looking like on film.

Of course, I've always assumed that vampire super-strength came in a less blatant package, i.e. if you're a super-strong vampire, then your muscles don't necessarily have muscles.

That metaphor is very appropriate, although I am not a huge fan of Cheez Whiz. The thing is, literary masterpieces don't always draw me in. These books do; they have that indefinable "readmereadmereadmenow" vibe. The masterpieces, the ones I can get into anyway, are meant to be savored, sometimes over months, like $50/oz hand-made-by-beetles Spanish chocolates. Twilight is the quick fix Hershey Kiss.
