The headlines are changing by the moment, but the current word from Gawker/Jezebel and the NY Post is that Natasha Richardson was in critical condition, was briefly reported as having passed away, and is now said to be "brain dead and not expected to survive" after a skiing accident.

ETA: TMZ gives hope, says only sedated? As tacky and intrusive as the TMZ informants tend to be, that's why they also tend to be right. More later, I guess.

Mont-Tremblant says she was all right after the fall. I hope they're the ones who are actually right. (Now I'm feeling weird, because I've been there.)

Me too. And as an added weirdness, the one time in my life when I actually thought "uh oh, I'm going to die" was when I was skiing down an icy, double black diamond hill there. :|

She was alright for one hour after the fall, but then started getting a headache and it escalated... so it might have been something bigger than the fall that triggered it. (At least, that's what they're saying in the local news here - I live just an hour outside of Mont-Tremblant).
