cleolindaKristin Scott Thomas in a black pantsuit and an elegant draping of long gold chains: "Am I supposed to be standing here or what?" she demands, as there is some camera confusion. "Thank you!" I love her. Best supporting actor: I can see her mouth making an H sound for about a full two seconds before she even gets "Heath Ledger" out. AWWWW, IT'S GARY OLDMAN! Everyone stands. Teri Hatcher is teary. "I'm quite emotional," Oldman says, sounding surprised. It is a great honor to accept in Heath Ledger's place, he says. Ledger was a great young talent, he is glad they gave him the award, and he thanks them on behalf of Ledger's family "and his Dark Knight family." AWWWWWWWW.
(Gary Oldman: "If Heath does get an Oscar nomination, I can just picture him up there, looking down and going, F---!" God bless.)
Taraji P. Henson and Brad Pitt with the Benjamin Button clip. "It's the remarkable result of... I need glasses," announces Henson. Pitt sounds completely dead as he reads his lines, and then when he finishes, he comes back to life, shakes his head and smiles. Hee.
