Disney Dumps Narnia.

The plan was to get the film in production soon, to be released in May of 2010. But without a company and deep pockets to finance the fantasy, there's a decent chance that this will all go up in smoke. The key cast were attached to the third installment, but there's no telling if they'll wait around for a new bank. However, Walden does plan to shop the film around in hopes of finding someone willing to fork over the money. I imagine that it will be a pretty hard sell -- the second only pulled in close to have what The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe pulled in, so it's far from a sure bet, box office-wise.

Ugh. My soul does not wish to live in a world where The Golden Compass and the Narnia series do not get sequels, but Twilight already has two greenlit. My soul does not care that Twilight made obscene amounts of money, my soul is bitchy and wants to see Dawn Treader goddamnit. That was my favorite of the series.

Dawn Treader is my favourite book /ever written/. I've gone through seven freaking copies of it. I've been annoying my gf with my excitement about this freaking movie since it was announced they might make more than one.

Well, it's Walden producing it--Disney was just their distribution/funding partner. I'm hearing Fox might pick it up, but... Fox is kind of heinous in terms of interfering with things, so... I'm concerned.
