(Thanks to gwynnywonk. Just to cover our collective ass, let's not assume this is legit until someone can confirm it. I thought he was just doing the voice...?)
The more I look at it, the more I like it. Just... what, though? I have a feeling that "WTF" was probably what he was hoping to achieve, though, so... good on you, man.
That said, I'm not that concerned about it - I have faith in Johnny Depp. I mean, I was so terrified when Charlie and the Chocolate Factory photos first appeared (as a huge Gene Wilder fan), but I ended up loving that movie, as odd as it is.
GYAH. Somebody tell Tim Burton about that girl rule about removing one accessory before you leave the house.
Also, I hear Johnny Depp is in that picture. Has anybody spotted him yet? I can't see him past the giant pile of makeup Tim Burton's decorated like a snowman.
(And yet oddly enough, if that picture isn't bogus, I kinda like it. Go figure.)
Same here, but replacing "Michael Sheen's Cheshire Cat" with "Alan Rickman's Catterpillar". Because no matter how much I *love* Tim Burton's repetitive, overwrought, no longer surprising at all fabulous aesthetics, my mind boggles just trying to wrap my mind around the idea. Alan Rickman is the man who dressed up in a glorified nightgown and drapes in order to photograph as the Lion King, yo! I cannot wait to see his him as the catterpillar.
... that is a creepily fetching Mad Hatter, though.
Damn. I am going to see this on opening night, I just know it.
I am dying laughing either way. He is always, always determined to make himself look insane, not at ALL understanding that it's his absurd good looks that help bring in the dollahs. He wanted to slice off his nose in PotC, have fake ears/nose in Sleepy Hollow, he added the skunk-stripe in Sweeney Todd...I love this boy too much. TOO MUCH.
LMAO. I wonder what Alan Rickman's going to look like as the caterpillar. XD (Btw, isn't the movie supposed to be CGI? So... How does this work again?)
