... but today is not that day.

So, just a random update:

Pete came out of surgery fine, although he'll have to stay at the vet for another 48 hours (on an IV, since he's had an emergency sockectomy and can't eat solid food for a while).

I am really tired of this random mystery fatigue bullshit I've had all week.

There will probably be no linkspam tonight, because I am going to finish this recap or die trying.

I had a weird dream about my teeth falling out--it's a recurring dream of mine, and it's apparently fairly common, but in this dream, it was specifically my left canine. The fact that it was a "vampire tooth," as it were, makes me wonder if the dream was about Black Ribbon-writing anxieties. Or anxieties about not writing it, since I'm having to work on other things at the moment. Very possible.

Also, speaking of Slutoween: Nightmare on Elm Street: Sexy Kreuger Costume. Okay, first of all, it's Krueger, thank you, and second of all, NO.

ETA: OH HAY WE NEED A JOURNAL FLASHBACK FOR TODAY. Let's go with... the Empire recaps I did a couple of years back. No, I only did the four. I need to do the other two, and I do have the DVD, so I can... when I have a project or two out of the way. I particularly recommend the third episode (the Gladiator ripoff with Dennis Haysbert) and the fourth one (the orgy that Fiona Shaw walks out on). I really do need to do the other two, though, because the one where Emily Blunt and Candypants have to hole up for the night in an Ancient Roman motel room is pretty funny.

Eek. Glad the sockectomy went okay. My best to Sister Girl - having a dog can lead to high anxiety.

Holy crap, Pete the Dog!! He may be good at texting people, but I guess he's not so discriminating about his foods, is he? Poor thing. Hope he gets better. ♥

Poor Pete! I'm glad the surgery went all right and I hope the recovery goes smoothy. Maybe he'll stay away from the socks now!

Oh god, I saw that Krueger costume last night! I was on the phone with my boyfriend and - being the masochist that I am - decided to check out the costumes and... well... let's just say I think I cost him his eardrum with the number of times I yelled "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?! OH MY GOD, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!" Even the teen/tween costumes look like hooker-wear. *shudders*

Did you happen to see the sexy Spongebob outfit? This is why I'm wearing a suit and cross-dressing for Halloween.

poor pete :( I'm glad his emergency sockectemy went well. I had to take my rat in to an emergency vet for what turned out to be an overdose of black licorice... can't turn your back on a pet for a second, I guess. I hope Pete feels better soon...

On the comedy side... does this mean he'll have to wear a satellite dish on his head?

I'm so glad Pete's surgery went okay. And I hope you feel better soon, too. Lots of viruses are going around (currently, mine is bronchitis...), so I suppose it's just that time of year, but it's not fine.

*shivers* The teeth falling out dream is one I've had many times. UGH. Talk about something you don't need on top of fatigue.

I.... uh.... no. You'll have to explain it to me, how a dog can eat a... sock? I'm sorry, I'm really not familiar with dogs, but.... a sock? I mean, was it a particularly tasty-tasty sock? Plus I was under the impression that he was just a small puppy? I... uh... am deeply perplexed and might never recover. I hope he does, though, and soon enough! And that he's learned his lesson to... stay away from... socks. *headtilt*

Oh, it turned out to be a big knee sock, too. About as big as Pete himself. My sister is still baffled herself, I have to tell you.

I apologise for laughing at poor Pete's sock eating. I know it was scary and messy and probably painful for Pete, but I just can't help giggling. I am, however, extremely glad he's okay, and I'm now going to make sure all my socks are out of my dog's reach.

I'm glad Pete's ok - although I cannot figure out how he ate a sock. It's mind-bottling.

I started reading the Empire recaps, and it really made me miss Rome. God I loved that show.

I don't know if you saw this, maybe it will cheer you up a bit. As a fan myself of The Hair, I smiled over this description of RPattz hair over at dlisted:

Oh, how I want to frolic naked through his hair. I want to have a picnic lunch on top of his scalp before taking a nap on the top of one of his strands. I won't have to worry about anything hurting me, because nothing gets past his wondrous jungle. He's tried to cut it in the past, but the scissors break whenever they touch one of his precious hairs. And when he takes a shower, the water beads bounce off his mop. His hair will outlive us all. (http://dlisted.com/node/28792)

Ohhhhhh snaaaaaaaap it's odd that you chose to do the Empire recaps today because! Because...

I was watching an old (circa, uh, 1996) miniseries the other day (Cold Lazarus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115140/) by Dennis Potter), and one of the characters in it, someone's boytoy, looked oddly familiar. I couldn't place the face, though. it wasn't until the credits that I realized it was. You know who it was?

It was CAKE! (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0129160/)

I have teeth-falling-out dreams fairly often when I'm stressed out. Usually, though, I dream about my teeth merely being very loose, though I distinctly remember one dream where I had a tooth fall out and I spent the rest of the dream trying to find someone who could help me stick it back in.

wut

From: [identity profile] elizardbits.livejournal.com
Oh man, I had loose/falling out tooth dreams for years; I always heard they were meant to signify that you felt a lack of control in your life. They were such creepily realistic dreams that I was dead sure I could actually taste the blood (ick) and usually ended up checking the bedclothes for teeth, JUST IN CASE.

I haven't had that dream in ages. I certainly hope this doesn't mean I'm going to have to start acting responsibly or anything. *shudder*

BTW, Nikki Finke wrote a piece on how Summit is already readying New Moon for production, and the resulting Twihard spasm is pretty insane.

Awww, I'm glad they found out what the problem was. Animals eat the weirdest things. My cat swallowed a needle and thread once, and it got lodged in her throat. One end of it was poking into the roof of her mouth, and the other end was poked through the back of her esophagus. She was fine after the vet took it out, but the vet asked us if he could keep it and add it to his collection of Shit Animals Swallowed. :-|

Poor Pete. I should introduce you to my friend Becka. Her dog Sparky (I keep typing god; this is telling) will eat damn near anything. And then she got a German shepherd puppy who will eat anything, no damn near about it. Underwear, an entire bag of apples, a bookshelf (no, I swear), coffee grounds, boots, curtains (living room), two shoes from two different pairs, a small wooden Buddha... it's all fair game at Becka's place, apparently. OM NOM NOM, srsly.
