That comment from the Twilight blog will never stop making me laugh. I made my friend read it, and she called me back today to ask me here the plot was, as she was 300 pages in and hadn't seen it yet.

It's just. so funny.

How about put a summary of the book on the back instead of quotes about how people liked the other books the author had written? That's what I want most.

Huh, I'm actually the complete opposite right now because after THE BEST FINALE OF ANYTHING EVARRRR, there's really nowhere the film adaption can go except down (for me anyway, I can see why others would look forward to it).

Man, that's a loooottttt of linkspam. I'd love to comment on it all but, damn. I will say - that comment on Twilight Tuesday = WIN, and I feel I've been missing out on the internets a lot lately because I have not been able to see The Dark Knight yet (going tomorrow!) and have been avoiding spoilers. :P

Yes. Particularly in the hands of the guy who made a movie about genocidal trees and then played it down as a deliberately bad movie when critics and audiences found it terrible.

I was horrified by the Top Gun 2 thing, but then MSNBC reported that it was not true. At least, the Tom Cruise part is not true, they weren't clear about whether rumors of a sequel were true.

It’s annoying to have books of different sizes and/or types on the shelf for the same series.

Strangely enough this has bothered me much less than almost EVERY GODDAMN BOOK BEING PART OF A SERIES. Sometimes I don't want to discover that the volume that horrified me is book 2 of your planned 23 book story arc on elvish werewolves who love the wrong women.

As for Make the covers more distinctive suggestion; how would we recognize paranormal romances without the headless and naked male torsos that they usually display?

From the twilight link - why did I click that?

Heh, I kind of implied that. I have such mixed feelings on the issue because I used to like Shamalymadingdong and defended him until it was clear that Yes, He Is Going Downhill, and frankly I don't like the idea of ANYONE doing a live action adaption of Avatar: the Last Airbender for many reasons (short list - 1. Animation is an amazing artform that can tell fantasy stories in ways live action can't 2. I can't see the bending not looking lame in LA and 3. the voice actors are soooo perfect that I don't think I can accept LA actors as the characters, i.e. DANTE BASCO WILL ALWAYS BE ZUKO TO ME).

However, Mike and Bryan have given their blessing and their enthusiastic support and they seem like very intelligent and good-humored men from what I've seen of them in interviews and con appearances (not to mention the bitching story-universe they created), so I feel like ranting against Shymlama specifically is like ranting against Mike and Bryan, and I <3 them so.

Bah, I doubt Cleo cares about my Avatar fan-rantings so I'll stop (I still haven't gotten over THE FINALE OMG)
