WILL NO ONE THINK OF THE WHITE PEOPLE?

Could the people at ONTD be any cattier? So Hilary Swank isn't a conventional beauty. Newsflash: neither was Amelia Earhart! It purely annoys me when people go on and on about an actress' looks and ignore her obvious talent. Suppose she and her two Oscars get the last laugh, though.

Also annoying is the paucity of Eccles in those pictures. Where's Eccles?

Ewan McGregor and and Eccleston in the same film? That's just accent porn at its finest. I'll buy a ticket just to listen to them talk at each other.

If you wanna see Ewan and Eccleston accent porn, watch Shallow Grave, they're roomates in that and it. is. HOT!!! (and creepy)

Yeah, Eccles is playing Frank Noonan, Earhart's navigator. No word on whether he'll be using an American accent for it. He's got an amazing voice anyway, but that Northern accent just makes my insides do fun things.

Yeah, I don't read the comments there anymore. It's a brain-hurt level comparable to reading YouTube comments, IMO.

Some people are now trying to claim that yes, its badness is at least partially intentional...

The problem with making a bad movie on purpose is that, at the end of the day, you've still just made a bad movie. (See also: George Lucas apparently directing his prequel cast to act woodenly on purpose.) I'm not saying that Independence Day is a great or even good movie, but I think the tone there is much closer to what a "B movie on purpose" should feel like. And note that "B movie" and "bad movie" are not the same thing.

The Dark Knight marketing is making me so excited for the movie! I don't even care about Batman at the moment-it's all about the Joker and Harvey Dent.I was sad my pizza place isn't starting thier marketing until July. And I'm loving all the Jokerized icons going on at ONTD.

I haven't heard of the Earhart movie.Richard Gere in it tho so buy me a ticket now.

Also, the Get Smart movie.I hope it's full of LOL moments. My dad loved the tv show.THE CONE OF SILENCE!

Flood of 2008

As I'm sure you've seen on the TV, there's been massive flooding in the midwest. I live in Cedar Rapids..and I'm sure you've seen on the news that our town was really hard hit.

I have up pictures from before and after up on my LJ (http://amberkb.livejournal.com/93776.html).

If you could post a little blurb asking people to donate to the Red Cross, that would be great. So many people's homes were destroyed, and businesses too.

Thanks!

Seeing "Angelina Jolie" and "Atlas Shrugged" in the same sentence is making me laugh so hard I can't see straight. Especially since I can't stand Ayn Rand. What's next, Brad Pitt in The Brothers Karamozov?

'Atlas Shrugged' is one of those, I think, once-in-a-lifetime films that you feel, ‘If I only do a few more in my lifetime, that has to be one of them,’” she insisted.

Yes, because after all that time immersed in Rand's philosophy, I'd think throwing oneself off a building would sound like an attractive next project. Ugh.

That millipede is awesome and its pinkness totally would rock the 80's. Did the writers of the new species slide have some sort of competition going to use the word "charismatic" as many times as possible, though? I know at least the beetle and the bat were both charismatic.

Also, as awful as Wanted looks, I can't help myself from wanting to watch it. Partly because it's like a cartoon, it's so laws-of-physics-defying, but I think mostly because of Mr. McAvoy.

Yes, because it will take an entire lifetime to watch all of it.
