I find that laughably implausible when said in a UK context. I mean, right now only 3% of the country can receive 8meg broadband. We, in a good sized town, are so far from the exchange that our internet goes out when you sneeze.

Oh, also, the orphan works thing is still showing up everewhere. It's on Boing Boing now. There are a lot of misconceptions, which annoys me because I think the Illustrators Partnership and Mark Simon are so woefully uninformed and/or biased that whatever they write amounts to scare tactics. And in important issues, informed debate is so much more important!
