It was Geoffrey Rush! After a whole film festival full of A-list stars staying on a single street in Toronto with zero on-the-fly celebrity sightings, it turns out I shared my flight back to LA with the star of the movie playing on the plane (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). Unfortunately, as Dan quit smoking six years ago to preserve his health or something gay like that, we could not offer Geoffrey Rush a light. But he smiled at us anyway, and I've totally started smoking in case something like this happens again."

HAHAHA I'm looking at the "I love not camping" September month right now!

I LOVE Anne Taintor. She makes my LIFE.

Bitch, please. Emaciation and leathery skin do not a fashion icon make.

I came online all prepared to enjoy Emmy discussion, but OMG ROBERT JORDAN. I started reading The Wheel of Time when I was 13. :(

Holy...I was never able to really get into the Wheel of Time series, but I have several friends who are going to LOSE THEIR MINDS when they hear Jordan's gone.

I've never read any of his books, so I know him mostly from people wondering if he was ever going to finish WOT--so my first reaction was, "Oh, *facepalm*."

A friend just e-mailed me to let me know she'd heard the news, and she feels terrible...she made a crack about Jordan dying before finishing the last book just YESTERDAY.

Pardon me while I go drink to George R.R. Martin's health.

I got through the first four books and part of the fifth before walking away from the series in frustration, but I know a bunch of people who are going to be quite upset that they'll never know how it ends. (Or, at least, how Jordan would have ended it. I'm cynical enough to suspect that somebody will release something "based on notes" or some-such.)

Bah. 2007's a suck year for big name deaths. *sigh*

Bwahaha! I just had the pleasure of telling my husband that he grit his teeth and stuck with the Wheel of Time for nothing. I abandoned after book 8. Although I'm sure TOR won't leave fans disappointed, they'll gather all the notes, hire a ghostwriter, get the family to write a foreword, and do the whole posthumous!book publicity hoopla.

Man, I'm completely devastated by Jordan's death. I haven't read the last two books yet (was waiting for him to finish, heh) but his series and the world he created are at the very core of all major events of my life over the past 9 years.

A sad, sad day :(

I know you didn't just type "sneak peak." You just copied the headline from the site. So I know it's not you.

Peek! PEEK! P E E K !

(It's one of my pet "peaves.")

Okay, you know what the dumb thing about that is? I was originally sitting there going, "It's SNEAK, you dumbass, not SNEEK," and I changed that word, and completely missed "peak" right next to it. So that headline was full of *double* fail the way I found it, actually.

To their credit (?) when I looked it was half-fixed and did say "sneak." I have decided I am not going to think about the person who wrote "sneek peak" because it will make my brain cry.
