Oh my God, you guys. I just coughed up a doxycycline pill ("the daisy cutter of antibiotics") and there was great throat-burning, and I chugged like four glasses of water, and it still hurt, and I'm probably going to die of throat cancer now, but okay. Well, if you read up on doxycycline, you'll discover that it's a time-release medication, and that you should not by any means break the capsule open and cause all the scary stuff to be absorbed at once. Well, coughing up a pill tends to do just that. I don't remember all the possible complications--somewhat fittingly, the only one I do remember is nausea. So a half an hour ago, after I managed to burn a hole in my throat, I started to feel very, very bad. Very bad. I thought, you chug four glasses of water, you're not gonna feel so good. Well... let's just say that the only thing worse than taking a ride on the Vomit Comet is cleaning up the fairgrounds afterwards. Thank God for Listerine and scrubbing bubbles, is all I have to say about that. So now I've got dueling stomach problems and a patch around my right eye where the capillaries are now broken--the last couple of years or so, this has happened every time I throw up--a snerfy nose, menstrual bloating, and my period itself. If I live through this, I'm gonna kill that cat.

And as an apology for that little scenic detour, I bring you new POTC3 stills.

Having just come off of 2 months of antibiotics, I feel your pain. If antibiotics weren't so good at killing stuff I'd never take another one.

Actually, expelling all those antibiotics from my body at a very high velocity has made me feel a lot better. I'm just really tired (and still kind of throat-hurty) right now.

I hope the Amazing Technicolour Expulsions stop sometime soon and you get over your Cat Fever.

You could also try applying cowbell, but I'm not sure of how those two breeds would mix.

Oh, I just had the one episode and it was out of my system. I'm just sitting around for half an hour or so now to make sure everything's stable before I haul my ass back to bed. Still gotta keep taking the shit, though, because my hand's not completely uninflamed yet. So it's four or five more days of this crap, if I can manage to swallow these things whole from now on.

Maybe the cowbell would keep the cat away. I would like that.

Good lord, how bad do you think Barbossa's breath is? No wonder Jack looks a little put off.

And as to your TMI, once when I had the flu, I invented a new verb: 'to skrewt.' It's where you need the toilet and the bucket at the same time. Not pretty.

From: [identity profile] ladyvyola.livejournal.com
Oh, dear. In our household, we refer to this situation as "the kind of flu that wipes out third-world villages".

I have also toured prospective homes with an eye to how close the toilet and the tub were for just such occasions. Joy. No one mentions this sort of thing when they talk about being a responsible adult.

Padparadscha -- that's an orange sapphire, isn't it?

Oh jeez. Having recently ridden the Vomit Comet (awesome phrase) and currently being the proud owner of a completely red, gnarly, bloodshot left eye, I feel your pain in those regards at least.

On a brighter note, hooray for POTC3 stills?

I've had the bloodshot eye from puking, too. It looked like somebody punched me in the eye--which, really, would be a more interesting story than, "I got this from throwing up."

Antibiotics are no fun. I can't swallow pills -- even tiny pills -- I have to chew them. So I know how unfun antibiotics can be.

I too have been having problems with nausea recently. Also headaches. I'm not sure I needed the word "recently," because really these are lifelong recurrent problems.

My main point: *hugs*

*HUGS* to Cleo! *Hiss* to Bad Cat.

My cat, Cali, sends you *get well fishes* wishes, and a tasty bowl of cream, to make you feel better (she says this almost always works for her!)... She sends Bad Cat a *hiss* and a *growl*, plus some good-manners, which she says s/he needs rather des-purr-ately...

I send you *get well soon* wishes, and careful *HUGS*...

Gods, Cleo. I hope you'll be all right. Trust me when I say that I know all about riding the Vomet Comet (hello celiac disease) and it's truly hideous, not to mention all your other stuff on top of that. UGH. Feel better, doll!

Keira's outfit is beautiful in its detail, but looks mighty cumbersome.

Also, way back when you posted links of Keira in a Wizard of Oz inspired Annie Leibovitz shoot (and Drew Barrymore in Beauty and the Beast ) - do you remember? I wouldn't, except I stumbled across the link in my bookmarks the other day. Well, These shots (http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2007-01-25-disney-ad-campaign_x.htm) are really gorgeous. I can't wait to see the rest of her Disney ad campaign, judging by these two.
