My throat's starting to hurt again--it's the stupid sinus drainage plus the flip-flop weather, is what it is. I did get a refill of my Wellbutrin today, so I should be on the road to normalizing that now. I'm tired, though. Fine--just tired. So not much from me today.

I can't decide whether to put all entertainment news on [livejournal.com profile] dailydigestnews, or just movie news. So the TV/music stuff is here today.

Nyxem Worm Programmed to Erase Files.

Investigator: U.S. 'Outsourced' Torture. I am outraged that hundreds of jobs have been taken away from hard-working American torturers!

WB, UPN to join together and form giant robot new network, CW.

'Lost' Stars Get Massive Salary Increase.

West Poses As Jesus for Rolling Stone. With picture.

Kevin Federline jams to "PopoZao." "What do you get when you mix a giant douchebag, a recording studio, and the worst single ever released by a human being? The funniest fucking thing you'll see today. You haven't lived until you've seen Kevin Federline bobbing his head and tripping out to his own pathetic single. Well maybe you have, but everything up until now has just been practice for this."

Oh, bail-jumping, mother-assaulting, alias-shuffling, writer-defrauding literary agent, you so crazy!

The most awesome text-adventure game ever. With bonus political hilarity!

That text game is awesome.

Also, I don't know if you saw this, but there is now a West Coast answer (http://www.narniarapbattle.com/) to the SNL Narnia rap. It's like the most adorable rap feud ever. ^^ (I mention because Stein in the video is a cousin of a good friend of mine)

I've seen the Narnia rap, and this one is hilarious. I wonder if those two SNL guys will create a response rap after that.

well regarding PopoZao... I think Kevin put it best when he said "It's like fire!" Yeah, fire like burning, burning pain. And of course "it's simple." That's right sweetie, simple like you.

Kevin, please, for the love of all that is holy... stop dancing. The hand waving really does you no favors.

Of course, you realize that giving him an affectionate, abbreviated name only lowers you to his intellectual level.
Please, fellow Cleolinda fanatics, don't stoop. And damned sure don't stoop and scowl at the same time. It only makes you look simian.

And Federline is simian enough to make up for an awful lot of perfectly normal, intelligent human beings.

Also, unintentionally funnier.

Probably will be kept. They'll keep all the popular stuff (Top Model, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Smallville) and ditch all the stuff that's dead weight.

Please, shut up. All these cries of, "Where's my Grammy?" are growing more and more embarassing. I weep for you, and, someday, I hope you will as well.

Oh, man, the Federline thing? I haven't heard it, but James Lipton was on Conan the other night reciting a few lyrics. Song sounded like retarded sexist bullshit (as are most rap songs, yes?) but you haven't heard magic until you've heard "In Portuguese it means bring your ass on the floor and move it real fast" until you've heard it in that deep, dignified Voice of the Actors Studio. *dies*

Wow. I just read that whole faux literary agent-plus some bit. That woman really does have a double dose of The Crazy. I live in NC and didn't hear anything about her fake agency. Maybe I didn't live close enough. I feel so sorry for those who got scammed by her, pros and amateurs alike.

And speaking of scamming, I'm sorry you/your fans have been hit also. I hope that everything gets worked out with that online scammer with very minimal (read: none!) backlash on you.

Also (playing LJ catch-up here), I hope things work out even better for your family's finances in the wake of your mom's job changes. It's good that you all have a plan in place with some cushion room, but I'm sure it must still be a stressful thing to be living through. Money usually seems to cause stress and tension. Which is why my best friend and I joke we should go back to beads and bananas. ;-)

Lastly, I hope you feel better--I just went through the sore throat thing a week or so ago again myself. Probably due to our schizophrenic weather here also.

No, you haven't lived until you've seen a two-year old in a princess dress dance the way only two-year olds can to that song.

Actually, they probably look a lot alike.

Aw, speaking of the UPN and WB merge; why did you stop watching Veronica Mars? I loved your recaps of it and it got so much better after TGND, I think that was the last one you recapped. :)

Time issues, mostly. That, and I didn't feel like the VM recaps were working out for me--they didn't really seem to catch fire, from a writing standpoint, the way the Lost ones did. I finally got so far behind that I said to hell with it and just asked for the DVD set for Christmas so I could catch up on my own. : )

Oddly enough, we don't have an offiical WB affiliate in Rhode Island--we have a UPN that rebroadcasts WB programming secondhand. So I guess, once again, Rhode Island is the cultural leader for the free world.

I forsee the production quality of the show, straining under the finance of paying 17 (20? 75?) regular cast members, plummeting.

Mark my words, next season the caves are going to be made of red and brown Play Doh. The boars will just be stuffed pigs they wiggle on poles with a crewman going "oink! oink!" The smoke monster is going to look like I Dream of Jeannie. The Others will all be played by Zeke, only dressed in different clothes and using different voices. The Drama Rain will be issued from a garden hose.

Using one guy in different suits is actually a well-known film practice known in the "biz" as Shemping. (http://www.dragonsdenuk.com/articles/left_for_dead2.htm) It is an honorable profession, with a long and proud tradition.

It is also how Ted Raimi wound up with more onscreen time than Bruce Campbell in most of the Evil Dead movies and "Xena, Bruce Campbell's Best Guest-Starring Role."
