Okay, I think I'm actually coming down with something now. I didn't go to class and slept through most of the day and ached. I'm going to spend tomorrow recapping because I have got to catch up.

Check [livejournal.com profile] m15m, by the way; I've finally gotten around to doing a countdown. With, you know, icons. Because they give you a preview of the text and... yeah. I wanted to start before now, but... really, ten days (rather than twenty or even thirty) is probably for the best.

ETA: Okay, look. There has got to be some Harry Potter site that has obsessively screencapped the first movie so thoroughly that I could make an icon from any conceivable shot. It's just one of the laws of the universe. So why can't I find it?

Have you tried Hogwarts Gallery (http://www.hogwarts-gallery.org/hogwartsgallery/category.php) for the screencaps? There's about 200 pictures from the first movie on there.
Hope you feel better. :)

The [livejournal.com profile] cap_it community has a lot of screencaps from the movies (all of them) in their memories, you might be able to find what you want there. Good luck and get well! I'm looking forward to the book...whenever I'm able to get it.

Damn you for beating me to the cap_it link, haha.

Yeah, I already pillaged cap_it. There's one entry with like 2000 screencaps that requires you to sign up for something, but I may actually break down and do it tomorrow.

Get some rest, woman, before hordes of fans deluge your house with Emergen-C, Cold-Eeze, zinc and echinacea. Or however all of those are spelled.

You deserve it, anyways.

1. For screencaps check [livejournal.com profile] cap_it. They rule.

2. Thank you so much for posting the reminder, I'm such a procrastinator. I just pre-ordered your book and I can say with all honesty that it's one of the most anticipated... thing... of the next few ways. Wait, that's a lie - Domino comes out Friday. So, Domino, then your book, then Harry Potter, in that order, is all I care about for the next month-ish.

You rule something wicked, girl.

1. Already pillaged 'em. Surprisingly, the first movie isn't that well represented. There's one entry with 2000+ that requires you to sign up for something, but I may break down and try that tomorrow.

2. Hee, I want to see Domino too. : )

Okay, I think I'm actually coming down with something now. I didn't go to class and slept through most of the day and ached.

With the hurricane-evacuate-town activities and other stuff, I'm surprised I don't have bronchitis, my body's usual reaction to stress. Yet I still feel these twinges of almost-not-well.

I've been drinking green tea, iced and hot. (Draon pearl, or Tazo's Zen tea.) And I put chopped garlic in soups and salads. I also cut my caffeine intake to half a cup of coffee in the morning.

I offer these suggestions, but maybe catching up on recaps will give you a boost.

Yeah... I should probably take some zinc again. I got some Lemon Zinger tea this weekend, I like that. : )

From: [identity profile] ter369.livejournal.com
Zinc! I've had that recommended before, so that's for mentioning it. I don't want a repeat of last winter with the two long bronchitis bouts.

Date: 2005-10-11 03:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Apparently you do have to be careful with zinc, though--only take it once you feel you're coming down with something, and stop once it's gone. I was like, "Hey! I'll be healthy all the time!" and took it for three weeks before weird things started to happen.

I have the DVD and a I can take caps using PowerDVD. If you want, you can let me know which bits you need capped (any from the second movie too), and I can take the caps for you.

Pizza tomorrow will help cure you if nothing else. You want me to make you some ginger tea? It's not "tea" in the traditional sense, just ginger and wildflower honey. Great for colds/general malaise.

Date: 2005-10-11 02:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Hmm. I'm a little scared of straight ginger.

Date: 2005-10-11 02:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] emargaret.livejournal.com
Well, it's just steeped in water, not like chewing on a big hunk of it. I like it because the ginger is a little spicy, thus pushing gunk out of your system, but the sweet honey makes it all warm and yummy.

http://yacht.zamok.net/DV/Potter/Dungeons/Snape/potterpics.html

Hope you feel better.

Without doubt the best screencap site I've found for the movies is http://poetic-genius.org/impervius/

I use allmoviephoto.com to make all my icons. I know it sucks, but it's the only site so far where I have found screen-caps for rare-ish movies I wanted to make into icons. This probably won't help much, but it's worth a shot.

From: [identity profile] bardintraining.livejournal.com
Heh. Thank-you, but I didn't make this icon. Woe is me that must use Paint for any and all icons. (I've made about 3, and they aren't very good. So I will settle for taking icons made by others until I am rich enough to buy Photoshop.)

Don't cry, there's probably a count-down going on somewhere until Dan Radcliffe is 19.

Hey, there's no shame in that. I just use the Photoshop on my work computer during down times. ;)

And at least I can take comfort in the fact that my sister loves him too, and she's 29. But that doesn't change the fact that all my guy friends think I'm a pedophile...

"But that doesn't change the fact that all my guy friends think I'm a pedophile..."
Pfft. Please. You know they couldn't watch anime schoolgirl shows and NOT, at some point, be thinking about sex. I don't know the exact ration, but I think it's about once every six seconds, according to the one Cosmo article I read years ago. I don't know if they do or don't watch anime. But IF they did--my point is made.
It's perspective. It's not like Dan is six. From a legal standpoint, yes, he is too young to love. But clearly he is biologically peaking at some point within the next few years.
Personally, I don't have much interest in him, in *that way*, but I'm not about to deny other people the joy of looking at them and going "squee!"

Date: 2005-10-11 06:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] particle-person.livejournal.com
Hee-- I'm a guy, and if I thought about sex every six seconds, I'd never get anything done. I suspect guys think about sex about as often as women do, but they may be more inclined to comment on it. Also, Cosmo has a pretty clear interest in having women *think* that guys think about sex every six seconds. Good point about the anime, though. And--shhhh-- I THINK EMMA'S CUTE.

Aw go ahead and love her! She is a sweetheart, and indeed, any man (or woman, for that matter) would be a little remiss if he didn't admit she has more than her fair share of charm.
Myself, I was standing behind the door when Cuteness got doled out.

Also, perhaps you could linkspam Alibris.com's Wishlist from Gulf Coast Libraries (http://www.alibris.com/wish/list.cfm?id=299395&key=D8EC1390CF0309047EC2&DI=1&cm_ven=Email&cm_cat=External&cm_pla=10102005&cm_ite=WishList). I believe the site will match your donation, book for book.

Anyway, thank you for ... being neato and such.

I'm sorry you're feeling poorly. If it makes you feel any better, I got bit by a dog at work today and had to get stitches in my lip.

Hope that mental image helps. :o)
