We watched it on our TiFaux (that's fake TiVo), and I thought I saw a blur when the shark went by, so we rewound and froze.

SHARK IS BRANDED. With a symbol of some kind. Symbol is...utterly ambiguous yet unmistakably present. If you have it on tape, look for it. And then we can discuss divided-circle meanings of shark's brand (island halves at war?)

And, of course, Michael's present to Walt provided a good OMGWTFPOLARBEAR moment. For all.

I love reading these discussions, but tend to keep quiet as I rarely have anything new to add. But has anyone mentioned the idea that people Jin so hastily labeled as "Others! Others!!" are perhaps tail section survivors. They may have gone more tribal Lord of the Flies than the middle section, or perhaps they are infected by the sickness.

I'm leaning toward the sickness myself, but I don't think that we will be seeing so many of the Others so soon in the season. That is a ways off most likely, saved for when they try to rescue Walt with help from Rosseau and the OMGWTFPOLARBEAR that has been tamed by Sawyer's dreaminess.

I was thinking about this, myself. But... and I'm not sure why exactly... I think these are the others. I'm not opposed to saying that the people of the tail section have become infected and joined with the others... but not all. Ana Lucia will be in the next ep and she'll explain if those were her people or not.

I have looked around a bunch of boards and I read a thread in which someone said that Jin was screaming about the others and that they had to run and something abotu infection (this could be complete internet bs, though. But if it's not...!)
