Just to check in--still working on a borrowed computer, as internet is not fixed yet. Woe. And while all your congratulations were lovely (thank you so much!), I should clarify that it was just the drafting I finished (which I considered to be the hard part and the worst of it). We're still copyediting. Oh, and also, I have a fifteen-page paper to write in about a week and a half or so unless I want my incomplete to turn to a fail. So... whee.

I would like to catch up on Lost recaps, but I have no idea when I'll be able to do that. Also, my tape with the Sayid, Kate, and Exodus part 1 episodes got taped over (VARLETS!). So... that'll be interesting.

Have had a steady stream of BPAL samples coming in secondhand... I'd write you reviews, but the copyediting alone is pretty time-consuming at the moment. Suffice it to say that I already ordered a 10 ml of Tamora, and my soul craves full-size bottles of Siren, Wolf's Heart, Titania, Glitter, and Swank. I also ordered, in addition to more imps than I really care to admit, LE bottles of Shub-Niggurath and Arkham Revisited just before they were discontinued. The new Carnaval Noir LEs are up at the main site, but... I don't know about those. I hear Midway smells astonishingly like slightly stale carnival food, and people who like that sort of thing are ecstatic about it. I'm... not so much. Maybe Gypsy Queen.

Have a whole pile of DVDs that have accumulated over the last six months (since my birthday in December), but I have no idea when I'll have time to start watching them. Sister Girl took the plastic wrap off for me and counted something like seventeen. Also a giant pile of books (since same), but no idea on those, either.

(Meanwhile: I leave you people alone for a few weeks, and Tom Cruise decides to go batshit. Clearly, I never should have left him alone like that.)

Oh! The Lovely Emily has moved home! For good! Huzzah!

Yay Cleo! It sounds like you are feeling remarkably human in spite of the metric ton of pressure you must be under.

I've been going nuts with the BPAL scents lately. I have a bunch of Imps, and I ordered MIskatonic U from the SiA collection, plus 3 of the new scents from Carnavale.

no joke woman! Cruise is having some kinda mid-life-no-hits crisis, I think.

Is anyone else as grossed out by the Katie Holmes thing as I am? I mean... that's a LOT of years, and make Demi look like she's going for someone marginally mature!

I think that right now I am more frightened of Tom's fixation with Katie than I am of Michael Jackson.

Congrats on getting the draft done! They are rerunning Lost this summer at 10pm on Wednesday I think, and of course the DVDs will be out in September. But don't worry about it, at all. Everything else - including your books and movies! - are more important that satisfying the internets.

I'm not too thrilled with the Carnival Noir stuff. Bed of Nails sounds interesting though. We'll see.
I've got Roadhouse on right now, and dear sweet lord it smells like the desert. Nice.

And I will not be held resonsible for Tom Cruise and his wacked-outedness.

Eeep! I don't have any of the episodes on tape, or I'd offer to send you copies... yay for getting the drafting done, though! That is the hardest part, I think, getting a coherent piece of work together. After that, fine-tuning it is no problem. In my opinion, anyway. lol

If you like florals, you'll probably like Arkham Revisited. It was a bit too "girly" for my liking, but the people who like it, really like it. I'm anxiously awaiting my SiA orders! Since you like Tamora, I simply must suggest you try to get your hands on Bastet if you haven't already. It's another warm-golden scent.

*g* I'm one of the foodie-scent lovers who ordered Midway, but it's Gypsy Queen I'm most psyched about, the rose-incense combo works very well on me. So many oils, so little cash... *le sigh*

Ah, BPAL. My mom ordered that six sample bottles as a graduation present for me - Empyreal Mist, Pele, Dragon's Tears, Jezebel, Dragon's Milk, and Titania. It won't be here until Julyish, but still...yay!

Btw, have you seen the pictures of Tumnus for the Chroinicles of Narnia movie? It seems kind of wrong that I'm slightly fangirling over him...

Some of the Carnaval Noir scents are tempting me to spend more money than I should. Midway sounds like it'll be too sweet for my tastes, as in, I don't need to be chased by bees this summer, lmao. My fear is that some of them will smell like oils already in the general catalogue (leaving me spending dough on stuff I can get cheap). I'm hoping that some of the peeps ordering will feel nice enough to decant the scents when they get it so, if I like any of them, I can order them before the August deadline. :)

Bpal is like a cult, seriously...>_>

Dude, there are Carnaval Noir decanting circles going on (here (http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=14271) and here (http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=13852)) on the forums - I'm in one. For $50 you get imps of the entire series, hopefully before it ends. I am extremely interested in Bearded Lady, Gypsy Queen, Snake Charmer and Medicine Show, myself.

I'm in way deep, yo. I went to the BPAL Mad Tea Party last weekend in Brooklyn.

We just like applauding ALL your accomplishments. When you finish copyediting, we'll squee and dance and congratulate you some more.
I simply adore Tamora. I'd say that I'd like to bathe in it, but, well, I kind of did when I tipped my nearly-full imp over on myself. I almost cried, but I smelled good (perhaps overpoweringly so) for several days and through a couple showers.
I hope you get a vacation soon, darling Cleo. A real one, where no one expects anything of you other than you eat, sleep, read, and chill. If there's any woman in the world who deserves it, it's you. We'll try to keep an eye on Tom for you (but no promises, you understand; the man is a Scientologist, after all).
On you go, Cleo! You can do it! Rah, rah, rah! Many fangirl hugs! I await the announcement of a book release date with bated breath.

Ooh, I needs me some new BPALs. I'm very upset that the Springtime in Arkham scents got discontinued before I had a chance to snatch some up, especially that I've recently become a Lovecraft fan, but maybe I can find some secondhand. Le sigh.

Wolf's Heart? I never even heard of that one. Have to go look it up... Of course, I can't even afford the fragrance oils I've been getting to try and blend my own scents to smell (working out better than I thought so far, fingers crossed and all), so we'll have to see what happens. I do have a birthday coming up, and a few well-placed whines may do the trick, even if I don't actually get the stuff for another 3 months.

Glad you're finding a few moments to breath and check in on your LJ fans; you'll get through it before you know it and then find yourself wondering what to do with yourself next.

A note: I just discovered these Jolly Ranchers lollipops with special flavors created by Thalia, the singer, and they're so bizarre but so tasty! They come in mango, lime, and tamarind, and they have chile in them. I don't know if they're around the rest of the country, we have a huge Latino population in my area so I found them in a drugstore, but I'm letting everyone who likes weird foods know about them because they are good. They were too spicy for the 12-year-old I babysit, but I managed to enjoy the whole thing. Yum.
