Omg. Someone at TCM's programming department is a genius, because they are showing Imitation of Life tonight.

(Narnia screencaps: Happy Mother's Day. Warning! Spoilers! Omg!)

(P.S. "I'm looking for Isengard, can you help me?")

It's useful enough. Well, it's handy for EM courses. I keep meaning to get Jackson, because most of my lecturers recommend it, but I never get around to it, and there are so many copies in the library.

I like Jackson, although he's heavy reading (in both senses). The University Physics I'm thinking of was a very elementary text, and didn't even have the differential formulations for Maxwell's laws. Maybe not the same book? Mine (and this was eight years ago) had a royal blue cover.

This one has a nice picture of the Golden Gate Bridge, I think. It's a decent enough book for the kind of stuff we do in some of the more hand-waving physics courses, and it's handy in that it covers a very broad range of things, although not in too much depth.
