There's other stuff I'll have to tell y'all about later, but I need to clean out my linkspam pile, and--it's just not appropriate for this entry.

Lost links:

Sawyer makes People's 50 Most Beautiful. His shirt, however, does not.

"Josh Holloway Lights My Fire." A story of one woman's Sawyer shame. Girl, I hear you.

Here's what the voices were really saying to Sayid and Sawyer.

Turns out Shannon's translations of the French transmission are really, really off.

All y'all can go home now. No one will ever suck up better than this.

ETA: Lost trading cards? (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] frodosgoosegirl.)

Misc links:

[livejournal.com profile] chickwriter's book, yay!

The new Serenity trailer. I will make it known now that I have seen about five episodes of Buffy because other people had it on, and I have never had any desire or inclination to see anymore. Thus, I did not watch the Buffy series. I did not watch Angel. I did not watch Firefly. The Serenity trailer leaves my dead, black heart cold. I am a heathen, and you may defriend me if you like.

War of the Worlds, Batman Begins Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Dating. No, really. No, REALLY. Let me translate the look on her face for you: "Laugh it up, bitches--I can buy and sell your ass!"

Rosie O'Donnell is totally crazy:
In the blog entry-cum-poem, she blasts the show and executive producer Rob Burnett for a slight she claims to have suffered more than five years ago, when she offered to take on guest-hosting duties when Letterman was undergoing heart-bypass surgery. Burnett says he is surprised by O'Donnell's ire. "I don't know how to respond to something that never happened," he told the New York Post. "And the last thing I want to do is get into a fight with a powerful celebrity who has a blog read by tens of people."
A good HGTTG review.

Omg jewelrrrrrrrrry.

I don't know what this ad is for, but I like it.

Capewatch: Sold! For GBP 3,400.00 (Approximately US $6,473.77). Fortunately, Emmy Rossum's slave girl costume and wedding dress rallied at the last moment and sold for only slightly less. Still up: a shitload of Phantom masks, the most sought-after one (not the one you'd expect) going for even more than the cape. Oh, and you know, everyone else's props and costumes for, like, $20. Philistines!

Me too. How disappointed I was when I clicked, and my eyes spontaneously exploded in order to spare themselves the pain of seeing that shirt.

I recently made a post in my own journal that says much the same thing. Only with a little bit of bitterness that the B5 movie never took off thrown in as a lame nerdy flavoring. Good to know that someone out there agrees with me.

I hear ya. I watched ten minutes of a FF episode and had no clue WTF was going on nor did I care.

But I can sympathize with the fans because I too know the pain of a good show getting ripped off the air due to a TV stations stupidity.

Yeah. Just, in addition to being dumped by the Pernicious Asswad, Sister Girl just found out that a high school friend is in the hospital dying. It didn't seem appropriate to follow that up with, "Whee, movie trailers!"

Yeah, but there's no Vincent Trading Card.

BTW, if you're a dog geek like me, there's an interview with Madison's (Vincent's) owner/handler in the May/June issue of Just Labs Magazine. No secrets are spilled since she's kept in the dark more than the usual castmates. But she does mention how Josh Holloway, Terry O'Quinn, Ian Somerhalder, and (I forget the kid's name) "Walt," adore that dog. http://www.justlabsmagazine.com/

I'm jealous of Katie Holmes. And a bit weirded out. Not that age really matters, but Tommy should go back to Nicole and they should live happily ever after. Aww. Though the whole Cruise/Cruz thing was cool just because of their names.

Better yet, he can come live with me. I'm almost Katie Holmes' age; or rather I would be if I were another eight or nine years older.

All of the shows walked the fine line between self-aware snark and up to a seven season span evolving and involving character arc.

...Yeah, that made no sense to me either...But ehh, I tried.

;-)

Just Netflix 'em when you get the urge.

Please don't condemn Firefly because of Sarah Michelle Gellar and her stupid Buffy-osity! =( Firefly is clever and fun and doesn't suck! You should try Firefly, just one episode, just for me!

And if you do, don't start with "The Train Job," which was never really meant to bear the weight of a pilot--watch "Serenity" (the episode called that, that is). Yeah, it's a double episode, but it lays out the setting and characters much less confusingly.

For those of us who love Joss Whedon and Firefly, the trailer is *such* a breath of fresh air. I do hope a larger audience than just the "cult following" sees the movie, but really, it's for us.

From: [identity profile] queenofattolia.livejournal.com
Ha! One of us, one of us -- that is, those on whom the "lure" of Serenity is completely lost. I loathe Joss Whedon, there aren't any cute guys in the cast (and please, don't start screaming about Frillion or Fillion, 'cause, Two Guys And A Girl And A Pizza Hut -- enough said), and the story was stupid. I mean, a space opera with no aliens? Please.

Date: 2005-04-29 02:51 am (UTC)

No cute guys in the cast? (http://www.angel-btvs.co.uk/firefly/images/sean_cast2.jpg) If you say so. (http://still-flying.net/images/objectsinspace/index.php?p=objects275.jpg&pg=5)

And I think it's refreshing, having a sf show without aliens. There's more than enough of them around.

$8,187.42 US right now. For that particular mask. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why the more well known mask isn't kicking bidding ass.
