So, uh... my mother just came home and told us about a letter that was put in her work mailbox:

Mom: "Well, it was in an interoffice mail envelope, sealed up with my name on it, but it was in [J.K.--not important]'s box, so the mail girl took it to my assistant, and they opened it because it looked weird, they said. And inside was this piece of paper and someone had written on it in this big, weird childlike handwriting, you know, like an adult trying to write like a child, and it said, I SAW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER."

Me: "Yeah, I saw what you did last summer, too... and it was pretty boring. Sounds like someone's been watching Desperate Housewives."

And of course there's the obvious movie reference. Neither reference makes any sense, particularly when you consider that my mother hasn't had so much as a parking ticket in years. I can see how my estranged father or someone affiliated with him might want to prank or unnerve my mother, but... it came through interoffice mail. The hell? Office security has it now. I don't feel good about this.
