Okay, y'all, I'm stuck on Titanic and I need help. If I were to transcribe the noise that a dolphin makes, as if it were saying something, what would that look like? I've seen people do it before, and I just can't remember what it looked like. I want it to be onomatopoeic enough that people will read it and go, "Yeah, that's totally what a dolphin sounds like." Any suggestions?

ETA: Let me give y'all some context as to why it has to be specific sounds:

JACK: Ma’am, seriously, I’m begging you. Don’t jump, because I’m gonna have to jump in after you.

ROSE: But—that would kill you.

JACK: See, you’d think so, wouldn’t you? Actually, you’d probably just snap your spine in the fall, and then be left floating in the subfreezing water while vengeful dolphins gnaw your toes.

VENGEFUL DOLPHINS [shaking bloody flippers]: EEEE! EEEEEHEEEH! CLICK CLICK CLICK!

[Vengeful dolphins are from earlier in the parody, it'll make sense when you get there.]

See, this entry gives y'all bragging rights to say, "And I helped her with this part right here!"

(The downside is that anyone you tell is going to be like, "Who?")

Heh, I can see that one now... "I said the click was important! The CLICK! SEE?!"

I've already told all my RL friends to keep an eye out for the book. We're all suckers for parodies, and this particular book is making fun of all the most mockable movies.

Hey, hold on, what about CLEECK CLEECK CLEECK? CLEEK CLEEK? CLEHK? This isn't working. EELCK?

I think in Ace Ventura, it sounded more like "Yip yip yip yip." Or maybe "Mip mip mip."

But "YIP YIP YIP" sounds like a bunch of small over-excited dogs on crack...

Dogs can swim. And wear dolphin suits.

That reminds me. I know it's rather early to ask, but is there any possibility of a book signing? Say, in the 'Ham?

'Cause I'd be there with bells on. Literally, if you want.

Hee! I may take you up on that.

No, I'm just still boggled that anyone would actually want me to do signings. I'll go wherever anyone wants me, pretty much.

Can I hold you to that? Because I'm in Australia, and that's quite a trip you'd have to make. XD.

You have a lot of fans here in Australia...of course, our country is also fucking huge, so even if you did turn up, it would have to be to SYDNEY, because all the cool people live in SYDNEY! Umm...we have Oxford street, and are famous for our gay community?

Sydney!

Also, you can have the dolphins sound different each time to use all the cool suggestions. Although onimous splashing sounds and eerie "screees" piercing the night will get the idea across ;) And dolphins that chew up the boat and eat the dead bodies.

Aw man, now I've got a Jaws parody in the Titanic parody in my head -.-
