Okay, y'all, I'm stuck on Titanic and I need help. If I were to transcribe the noise that a dolphin makes, as if it were saying something, what would that look like? I've seen people do it before, and I just can't remember what it looked like. I want it to be onomatopoeic enough that people will read it and go, "Yeah, that's totally what a dolphin sounds like." Any suggestions?

ETA: Let me give y'all some context as to why it has to be specific sounds:

JACK: Ma’am, seriously, I’m begging you. Don’t jump, because I’m gonna have to jump in after you.

ROSE: But—that would kill you.

JACK: See, you’d think so, wouldn’t you? Actually, you’d probably just snap your spine in the fall, and then be left floating in the subfreezing water while vengeful dolphins gnaw your toes.

VENGEFUL DOLPHINS [shaking bloody flippers]: EEEE! EEEEEHEEEH! CLICK CLICK CLICK!

[Vengeful dolphins are from earlier in the parody, it'll make sense when you get there.]

I've only seen dolphin speak as a load of Eeeeee's, but that resembles excitement.

I'd go with "EEE! EEE! EEE!"

But, you know, I can't even remember what dolphins sound like.

It's very nearly torture, but I've got the sound stuck in my head now. When it reaches ten minutes, I'm going to have to call a doctor.

Um, I'm certain that the EEEEEE is the way to go, though the *random Flipper noise* would work, too.

and I'll have you know I actually did research on that before I wrote it all! (The sounds, not the Flipper part.)

Crap, did you ever play Star Tropics? That must have the sound. There were dolphins you had to help.

I guess I would go with "EEE! EEE!" Or "EECK! EECK!" Or "SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH! SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH!"

Only on Livejournal might I find myself participating in a discussion on how to write the noise a vengeful dolphin makes.

The CLICK CLICK CLICK part is vital to the effect, I think.

I just watched Titanic yesterday...and, man, I cannot wait to get my paws on this book of yours. And then I will run around to all my little friends at school yelling, "I semi-online know her!!"
