GALADRIEL SMASH!
Jul. 2nd, 2004 11:17 pmOh, for fuck's sake. This is either a troll or someone whose friend has pulled the wool over her eyes:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/cleolinda/99710.html?thread=1623678
http://www.livejournal.com/users/cleolinda/99896.html?thread=1623864
Either way, I'm stressed enough as it is without having to deal with "OMG *U* R TEH STEELR!" too.
ETA: I have the IP numbers of both comments; they're the same. From an ISP in New Zealand, of all places. (Given how much money I have spent on the Lord of the Rings movies and associated merchandise, I feel deeply betrayed.) (That's a joke, people.) The IP does NOT match Self-Confidence Boy's comment, so it's not directly related to the ff.net kerfluffle.
I know a lot of people visit from non-LJ links, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to turn off anonymous comments here and at
m15m until things settle down, because if you want to accuse me of something, you can damn well have the balls to leave a name.

Hmm. I was not aware that one could be a troll on one's own journal. These peons have such amusing ideas, no?

*white-glove claps* Oh, good show! I think it's a great idea; you'll cut down on a lot of crap. I am utterly using you to plan my coronation after I marry royalty.
(I have no idea why I'm channeling the Queen, either, but I do so enjoy it. We shall have the bastards beheaded.)

Date: 2004-07-02 10:13 pm (UTC)Yeah, I got that new Galadriel icon just because of all the petty shit this week that I've been letting get to me because I'm not used to it. Also, I had a good-sized margarita (and I don't drink very often), so I'm a little punchy tonight as it is.

Date: 2004-07-02 10:19 pm (UTC)Anywho, I don't believe it and, while that might not mean much, I'm a bit on the crazy side so if you want, I could track down the kid a la Jay and Silent Bob and kick the snot out of him ... have you seen J&SBob Strikes Back? That's really not funny if you haven't =\
New Icon -- *adores* That's wicked! =D
Have at them!
Date: 2004-07-02 10:48 pm (UTC)(Cleo, if you don't feel this is right, please delete this post.)
http://irin.revsaxon.org/archives/000750.html - they have the nerve to run this disclaimer: "Harry Potter and all these other characters belong to JK and im [sic] just borrowing them because I'm bored." I rarely ever use this combination of letters, but - WTF???????
http://www.geocities.com/thinkanti/ - *sigh*
The second one is just ignorant of the law, but the first one is actively trying to pass it off as her own - "I'm just borrowing them, etc." If anyone else has time on their hands, just take a phrase from the first couple of lines of any of Cleo's parodies and you'll be disgusted at what you find. On the up side, I came across quite a few sites doing the right thing; either only including a few snippets with a link, or acknowledging Cleo and providing a link. Cleo - you'll be pleased to know there's even a Swedish HP fan site who love it! (They still had it in English - obviously hadn't gone to the effort of translating it like the other one I found. Did you ever find out what language that was?)
Once more, if Cleo or anyone else thinks I'm wrong to be putting these links here, just comment and I'll remove it.
