Jun. 17th, 2004 01:37 pmJust got the Popbitch newsletter:
"I DON'T. Buy the tomatoes with. The stems. On them. They don't. Degrade. They go. Down the sink. And into the WATER. Then. They get lodged in the throats of little. OTTERS." - Christopher Walken
Yeah. I don't know. The newsletter just starts off with that quote, no context, nothing. But it's good to know that Walken's concerned for the otters.
From the "WTF WTF OMGWTF" file:
[Video director] Floria [Sigismondi] recently got married in a quiet ceremony in a Toronto park wearing an Empire-bodiced dress, with multiple layers of tulle projecting over her pregnant belly. Between the uppermost layers of tulle, she wore a swarm of live bees.
Oh, and by the way: this is the worst excuse for a "blind" gossip item ever:
>> Big Questions <<
The truth is out there
Which TV and film actor didn't stay lonely when his actress wife went off to New York to film? The actor wiled away most of his time at the local Starbucks in Malibu and when the coffee shop wasn't open, took the 18 year-old waitress back to his place for "coffee".

Date: 2004-06-17 12:38 pm (UTC)Any idea of the source of the popbitch obsession with otters? I mean, I love it, but I don't get it. I guess it isn't meant to be gotten. But yay for Christopher Walken for going there.

Date: 2004-06-17 04:57 pm (UTC)Something that would be a very sweet tradition to see get started... y'know how at the end of the wedding reception, when the bride and groom are leaving for their honeymoon, they've got to run the gauntlet of guests throwing rice to ensure their fertility? Well, that's kind of unnecessary when the bride's already pregnant. So instead, perhaps the bride could release her bees as she and the groom make their way to the car at a stately pace, and the guests would be the ones running instead. Much more dignified, I think, and very symbolic too.
If I ever get married again, I definitely will want bees in my dress. Of course, they might not do so well in weather cold enough to have caused Hell to freeze over, but that's okay - we'll save them to dip in chocolate or something. "There's always room for bees."
