I'm so so so sad about this. I knew he was sick, but it still doesn't take away any of the sadness that he is gone. My heart goes out to his family, I know how horrible it is to lose someone due to cancer. Especially someone so young.

I can't help but feel like so many important people from my young life are dying. I watch as my parents hear of starlets they loved when they were growing up die of old age and yet here I am, a mere 23, and yet so many starlets from my generation are already passing on. It feels wrong.

My dad died of the same cancer that claimed Swayze. I'm amazed that he lasted as long as he did, and am relieved that he's no longer in pain.

Oh, man. My friend and I were talking about him *just* last night. In fact, the discussion started with me asking, "Patrick Swayze is still alive, right?" :(

I loved him in Dirty Dancing and Ghost. His SNL skit was actually funny. But my favorite Patrick Swayze moment is the MST3K Christmas carol inspired by him.

I usually pride myself on being reasonably unemotional when it comes to celebrity deaths - it's not like I ever knew them personally - but the ol' Lite Mix was playing on the radio at work this afternoon, and when (I've Had) the Time of My Life came on, I lost my epic shit.
