I'm not ready to love you just yet, September. I've been hurt, okay? August hurt me bad. I don't know that I'm ready to love again just yet. Can we take it slow?

So yesterday I got out the sample vial (an "imp," for those of you not familiar with BPAL culture) of White Light that lunakitten sent me and put some of it in a candle (yes, safety first: I blew it out before I added a flammable substance) and then some of it ended up on my hands so I rubbed it on my wrists and let me tell you, that stuff smells great. I can't even really pick out what it smells like, just light and warm and kind of sweet, except that I think someone said there's lemon in it? I don't even know.

(Side note: Twilight Alchemy Lab is an offshoot of BPAL that PREDATES TWILIGHT, THANKS. And the Siren oil there is not the same as the Siren oil on the main site, which is one of my absolute favorites in an oil diffuser. I think it's the ginger--it helps me work. I need to remember to get a full bottle of that.)

I also have a magical-thinking superstition about calendars--you must, must, MUST change it over the first day of the month, you can't let it sit on the wrong page. If the previous month was good, you can leave it on that page for most of the first day so that the good vibes carry over. If the previous month was bad, you change that bitch as soon as possible. Midnight on the 31st, if possible.

Well, this month was so bad that I actually took the calendar down last night and CLOSED IT and waited for today to even hang it back up again. ON THE SEPTEMBER PAGE. I want to be shut of that bad juju for good.

Of course, I'm still not assuming things are magically better now. Like I said, for all I know, August had nothing to do with it and it's all just going to keep going.

Hah. That reminds me, I need to change mine. But then, my August wasn't really so terrible.

Turns out September is a photo of these guys! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixVXj25feAU) Happy times.

...Now that I think about it, August's picture was of a guy doing an act called the Slave Cage. :|

I do the same thing with my calenders. I have weird supersitions though. I won't wear the clothes I wore when I had my car accident, I think they're unlucky now. :/

I can personally vouch for Septembers in general--perhaps not this one yet, it could be a fluke. They contain my birthday, fresh corn on the cob, and the first day I require a sweater (mmmsweaters), so I figure they can't be all bad.

I'm so jealous--I only wish that I could wear sweaters in September. Where I live, September is only cool enough that you can walk outside without feeling like you're being burned to death like in August. We can't wear sweaters till the end of October at the earliest. Oh, the joys of living in the South.

You have the same superstition about calenders that I have. I thought I was being paranoid like my parents kept saying.
I really hope it all gets better for you this month. This month is going to be a bitch for me, I hate September ever since I can remember when September rolls in every year it brings with it a string of unfortunate events, it rarely deadly but just mean and cruel. :(

I'm sure September will agree to take it one day at a time with you, Miss Cleo.

The word Twilight has been forever ruined, idk how things like that can happen.

I'm fond of September because it's my birth month.

Get the TAL Anthelion. It is seriously SO CALMING and just a wonderful lovely oil. It's like comfort food and your favorite stuffed animal and satin sheets and a big down comforter all smashed together and distilled into an oil.

White Light is one of the few TALs that I own an entire bottle of. Whether that's a testament to how well it works or how often I need it to work, I'm not sure. =P

I peeked outside, and September LOOKS better than August, anyhow. I guess we'll see.

Just think good thoughts and let August's events be in the past. I like September because that means only one month until October (my favorite time of the year). Sept. also sends my brother back to school...thank goodness!

OMG I love White Light. It makes me relax *instantly*.

You need happiness. If you email me your address I'd be glad to send you some partial-decants of TALs that work happiness. Do hyu have a w/l?

BTW, you were the one that introduced me to BPAL 2 years ago with a post about the 'Weenie inquisition. YOU EVIL SUCCUBUS.

White Light sounds interesting, I shall have to ask my local BPAL pusher about it.

We've been having completely clear skies this entire month, but today I woke up to a completely overcast los angeles and I was like, "Lol, hi September." Maybe it's a good omen? I like cloudy days and all that.

Are you sure it's clouds? With all the smoke, I'm hard pressed to tell the difference.

The last few Junes have been really bad for me (which sucks as my bday is in there.) Seems to be so much death and wtfuckery.

Here's to a better month. September don't be so fail. Good things about it: My sister will be giving birth...birth is great, right? Yes...changing leaves.

I miss having oils, since I've packed I can't find any of my little kits, but unpacking commences sometime this week so here's to that.

Cleo, I can't be the first to tell you that Mercury is retrograde all of September (sorry, I didn't read all the comments on all your August posts but I didn't notice any discussion)... and I think you already know that the effects of a retrograde start about three weeks before the actual event... i.e., early-ish in August in this instance... so your computer shopping was doomed from the start, right?

You were like the "don't" poster girl in Retrograde Studies with all those computers you brought home all month.

I can't believe your iPhone worked and still works... maybe retrogrades can only cause so much fail and then it's like -- ::shrug:: "I did my best.... Round 1 to Cleo."

Hope you have a terrific September!

I still think you ought to burn the White Light in the dark corners, and smudge the shit out of the outlets and appliances with sage or whatever. Why take the chance?
