This is just to say that I feel kind of feverish and worn out and drowsy in that "No matter how much sleep I get, it will never be enough" way, which usually accompanies Coming Down with Something. Honestly, I have decided to blame everything on the rain the boogie the month of August (the Compocalypse occurred ON AUGUST 1ST, like, way to even try to be subtle about it there), so if this is the last dig August wants to get in, that's totally fine with me. If I can just survive until Tuesday, September 1st (FAMOUS LAST WORDS), I'll consider it a win.

Also: My life, now in convenient icon form.

So. Um. Stuff. What are you guys doing this weekend?

Oh, and before y'all start emailing links, yeah, I saw the Volturi pics whatever stuff that came out yesterday. It's all on my FriendFeed and Twitter.

August sucks. It's a sucky month, and the weather usually sucks too.

This weekend? I'm driving across Ohio to visit friends in Michigan. Cleveland, then cornfields. I've done this trip too many times. It's quite dull.

I drove to Ohio today. It rained on me the whole way, until I *got* to Ohio, and then there was blue sky. It improved my opinion of Ohio dramatically.

However, I also went nowhere near Cleveland.

Going to Barter Books (http://www.barterbooks.co.uk) and waiting to see if a short story of mine will be published. Hopefully these 2 things will be August's saving graces. Mine wasn't that great either.

I am thinking good thoughts for you that September will be better.

I hope you feel better soon. :)

I'm so excited about that movie! I lived by the site and the movie was filled in another county but the area is pretty much equal to it all. We moved two years ago and I want to go see the movie and go 'aw home!' Enjoy!!!

Um, sneezing (allergies), ignoring cleaning the bathrooms, sneezing some more, getting my character into a catfight on an RPG, occasional sneezing, researching Hans Christian Anderson and Grimm's Fairytales, and buying a lot more kleenex.

Or taking an antihistamine and not doing anything. So, prolly the above.

Love the icons, btw. Specially the cat (someone should put the 'Cleolinda is never making it up' on that, imo! :) ).

Going to see 'Bandslam' (say what you want, the critics seem to like it) and then swimming; the next day, going into the city to shop and take notes for my book; and since it's a bank holiday, on Monday I am...staying in and cleaning while my father whisks Mum away for a romantic day out.

So you'll be hiding out under the covers with all the lights turned off and the doors locked until September first?

It's so very Final Destination...

Also this weekend will be sandwiching Possibly the World's Shortest Roadtrip with a friend from out of town in between bouts of working my last two shifts at Temporary Job and then sorting out an interview for potential Non-Temporary Job for the fall.

This weekend I am...

throwing my mother a surprise birthday party in... oh 45 minutes. And I've drank three drinks already due to stress and am getting far too tipsy far too early. I am never, ever, planning a surprise party again. Ever.

I will be doing some general hanging around, going to the waterpark and hopefully watching Psych.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that my Philosophy prof reminds me of your M15M Morpheus, Cleo. Everything He Says Sounds Very Very Important.

My local cinema back home has just started selling tickets to its midnight screening of New Moon (yes, it's not until November).

Fortunately, I'm studying on the other side of the planet for a few months, so I don't have to stress about hiding from Team Anyone.

I may go punting on the weekend.

I'm driving my fiance, the cat and myself up to Massachusetts. I've only been driving solo for two weeks and I've never driven out of state (we live in Jersey). I am terrified, yo.

Also, sneezing. Can you catch colds over twitter? Because I think I caught [livejournal.com profile] seanan_maguire's.

I will be attempting to comfort my brother, who is also having the worst August ever. He has suffered numerous injuries and ailments, and recently the car we share had its drivers-side window smashed by drunken morons. Immediately following the window-smashing, there was a thunderstorm, so the inside of the car got soaked...

This month is cursed. Cursed, I say!

Prolly not too much, hanging out tonight. Tomorrow going to a friend's birthday party and then a couple of high school football games and screaming my fool head off. Sunday my wonderful friend's wonderful husband who is an "all things electronics" whiz is coming over to set up my son's laptop that I gave him last CHRISTMAS (yeah, I know!!) because I could not get the stupid wireless router to work and I don't have 3 hours thanks-very-much to sit on the phone with tech support to find out why I am such a technological dumbass. (Geez, is that maybe the longest sentence ever? Probably not. For me, anyway.) And I am making them lasagna.

And then it will be Monday again. **sigh** I'm already tired.

I've been very, very ill all month, so I share your end-of-August anticipation. I may very well stay up until midnight on the 31st, just to be certain September really does arrive.

As for this weekend, I am staying the night with my home health patient tonight. Saturday I'm toying with the idea of hitting Reed's Books in the 'Ham, because I've never been there and people keep saying I should go. Have you ever been there?

August *is* a crappy month. It's always too damn hot. There's no major holidays. And the way it fell on the calendar this year means it'll be five full weekends Before I get paid again. The only saving grace for me is that it is my birth month. Since I'm only 32 and not yet dreading getting older (at least, not *that* much), I have to love August. In fact, I've toyed with naming a future child of mine August or Augustine.

*ahem*

Um, this weekend I will most likely spend too much time drinking alone while I do laundry, clean house, make a dent in typing up NaNo '07 and '08, fret over the expense of a trip to LA next month, play altogether too much WoW, curse MegaVideo for not letting me power through all of True Blood, and make excuses for not leaving the house and engaging with REAL LIFE.

August is teh month of suck. I hate it. I've had more shite go wrong this month, and so have most of my friends.

My weekend will be spent having quality time with the hubby, since our boy is going to his grandparents for an overnighter, and the hubby miraculously got an entire weekend off.
