Since people got worried about me not posting over the weekend--I'm fine. Getting some writing done tonight, gonna try to go do some stuff this weekend, will probably post a proper entry of some kind (linkspam or otherwise) soon. I just may start taking a day off from posting now and then. I had that six-month streak and all, but it's getting nice out and it would probably do me good to get away some. So.

Oh, and I've got my ticket for Star Trek. I promise nothing, however, particularly since it's getting great reviews and those are generally pretty hard to write about.

Hon, take a BREAK. Take as many as you need. I can barely stand updating once a week let alone every DAY. We will survive somehow or other. Maybe go outside or something. Who knows.

I don't think I've updated my LJ since LAST YEAR -- I mainly just keep an account to see what my friends are doing. So I do think it is a really unfair standard if people are expecting Cleo to update every day.

We bought IMAX tickets 3 days ahead of time. I can't wait. Rotten Tomatoes is giving it a 94% so far.

heh, i've got my ticket too! ten o'clock showing friday night and i can't wait!!!

i'm glad it's getting good reviews. maybe we'll get another series or something out of it. maybe a revamp of enterprise? because it was just released at the wrong time for people to love it.

I worry about you -- I'd hate for you to think you have to have your writer's cap on 24/7. That's enough to drain the fun out of an impromptu drunken Twilight LARP. We don't pay you enough to demand you be "on" whenever you interact with pop culture; you should be able to just gobble up cotton candy media once in a while without being Cleolinda Jones, Wordsmith.

I promise, the faithful legions will be here for you, whenever, however, under any type of catastrophic circumstance. Just take care of yourself first; the rest will follow.

I got my tickets too! But it isn't until Saturday, because Friday was already sold out. I'm hoping for much joy in this movie. I hope you enjoy yourself on your days out.

Sorry I was all paranoid about your break. I just tend to hang out with some people who have bad health, and when their posting schedule changes, there's usually a reason involving hospitals and the like. Apparently now I get worried for otherwise healthy people too.

...Tl;dr, huzzah for breaks!

Anyway, you get on with your bad outside loving self. Also, I want to see Star Trek so baaaad, but I have to be all responsible and stuff and spend money on more important things..

So not to give anything away, but Star Trek is kinda amazing. AMAZING. I stood in line for 45 minutes in 85 degree temps with 100% humidity to sit in almost the front row in an IMAX and I still loved every second of it. :)

I just saw it and it was good but also had HUGE potential for mocking. I kept whispering comments to my friend during the whole thing and we just kept cracking up.

Also, I know you've mentioned Urban Decay before and that's one of my favorite makeup brands too (I love their super-smooth eye-liner pencils, I want one in every color!) so I thought you might get a kick out of their new product: the pocket rocket (http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/PocketRocketLipGloss.cfm/). Not only does it have a holographic-type man you can "undress" but the ink on the tube has pheremones in it so when you rub the ink it releases into the air. It's hilarious, but the colors are actually really great on (but not in the tube) and the shape is perfect for your pocket, for once.

I agree: there's major potential for mockery, no matter what the critics may say to keep the trekkies at bay. I'm not saying it was a bad movie, but it kind of cured me of my desire to see all things Star Trek in the future--kind of like how X-men 3 kept me from bothering to see the Wolverine film.

Star Trek

Oh Star Trek was wonderful. It was the Batman Begins of Star Trek. They actually found an organic way to make all the fandom discrepancies work into the plot and their leading lady didn't look and sound like a little girl.

When strangers are worried about your health and clamoring for you to produce more work, I think you can safely say that you've officially become an Internet Celebrity. Congratulations!

Take as much time off as you need. Burnout is a bitch and you need to get in your Vitamin D time to keep your sanity.

I am all for the "going outside in the sun" philosophy. It is getting soooo nuce out. Must take advantage!

particularly since it's getting great reviews and those are generally pretty hard to write about.

Hah! Is it wrong that I read this and thought, "well in that case, Wolverine would be pretty easy to write about." Hee.

Not that it was terrible, per se - there were a fair number of good parts, actually. Just...the whole was NOT greater than the sum of its parts.

I'm going tonight to see Star Trek. I'm so excited; the trailers alone made a Trekkie out of me, since they intrigued me enough to check out the original series.
