So I'm feeling better. Not great; still pretty weak, kind of wrung out, but I think my stomach's stable now. Also, I got that Coke I wanted.

Meanwhile, Sister Girl and her boyfriend came over to do some laundry and pick up some stuff, and he offered to take a look at the internet situation. An hour later, he's rewired the entire cable modem whatever situation ("What douchebag wired this?" "The Charter guy. He didn't really seem to know what he was--" "This is a DSL box." "I think that's from before?" "But why is it still HERE? Why is it still HOOKED UP? Do you even HAVE a wireless card?" "Well, I would have to...?" "Where is it?" "I... don't know?"), called Charter, got all the passwords, bitched them out for having now idea what the hell they were talking about, voodooed my internet back to life, and somehow got me a stronger signal. Probably because the modem was no longer routed through the second hard drive I haven't even turned on in three years. Man, I love him so much.

(Bad news: My hard drive may be "slowly dying." This is Not Good. At the very least I want to buy an external hard drive to back up all my stuff. I'll have to get that e-book finished pronto.)

So now I'm hugely behind on work, Secret Life, email, and linkspam-collecting. Oh, and someone emailed me out of the blue to offer to buy my Coraline Box of Mystery. HALE NO, IT MINE.

Late-breaking ETA: 'Golden Girls' star Bea Arthur dies at 86.

Oh, I actually *do* want the auto backup. I kept meaning to back up my previous (first) computer and always forgot . . . and then I got a Virus of DOOOOOOM and lost EVERYTHING. D:

And I'm sure I would probably forget to back up my hard drive myself on a regular basis . . .

I connected to the external server (the "Macintosh HD" menu seems to be the equivalent to "My Computer" from my previous computer) and it looks like it keeps the data from every time it backs up—so if I wanted to, I could access my computer's hard drive from, say last Thursday.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to do *both*? I might just have to sit down with my user manual after classes finish and try to figure it out.
