Okay, I'm writing Troy in Fifteen Minutes, and I need a little help--what does Menelaus say at the very beginning when he's toasting Paris and Hector? It's something extremely ironic like, "May the something something, the women stay in our beds, and the something something." Anyone remember?

I read it somewhere, but looked and couldn't find it.

Well, at least you reminded me that *I* read it somewhere--so I went and looked, and there it is at Latino Review: "May the gods keep the wolves in the hills and the women in our beds!" Yay!

Btw, I saw your "Van Helsing"-piece on one of my IRL-friends blogs. That felt freaky. :)

AHHHHH! WEIRD. Which blog?

Yeah, you're certainly getting your share of fame with that 15 minute piece. It had me in stitches and I pointed everyone on my LJ to it.

Huh. Somehow, the LJ recs don't surprise me as much--I mean, I'm flattered, but that's just the kind of place LJ is. You cough, and it becomes a meme. It's the non-LJ blogs that surprise me, for some reason.

I haven't seen Van Helsing, but the 15-minute Hannibal SOOOO captured that movie.

Stupid Hannibal.

"May the something something, the women stay in our beds, and the something something."

*sniff* That's beautiful. I'm gonna have that engraved on my wedding invitations.

Oh my God, you're famous. Will you still be my friend when you're at nude hot tub parties with Orlando Bloom being interviewed by Entertainment Weekly?

I am OBVIOUSLY late to this party. I was just coming here to see if I could persuade you to do Troy in Fifteen Minutes.

I can't wait 'til you post it; the first three have had me in STITCHES.

Speaking of stitches, you will, of course, mention the big ball of twine? :-)

This is AMAZING. You're frickin' EVERYWHERE!

Which is only fair, because you're also frickin' hysterical, and everyone should get to laugh like that.

Famous what? Who? Where?

Of course I will! Hell, I'll invite you, too!

OMG I LOVED THE BALLS OF TWINE.

It was v.v. difficult for me to not giggle like a squealy fangirl at the big balls of twine, and at Patroclus (who was such a GIRL!), and at Achilles' really cute leather number. I wonder if they make it in my size...

Heh, Patroclus. My absolute most favorite part of the whole movie: Achilles shrieking "HEC-TORRRRRRRRRR!" for, like, thirty minutes straight.

You've definately acheived fame when your lists have shown up all across several college campus's, and Troy? oh god.. slaughtered the Illiad so hard.. but for some reason I still love it. I'm a classics student, I feel like I should be crying tears of blood out of sorrow, but the two week trojan war is just so very funny.

Heh, the two week Trojan war is awesome. That, and "I made several mistakes this week."

College campuses what?

A friend of mine on campus sent your list to me, it seems as if there are a lot of groups around here that know about you. The fifteen minute review of Hellsing is pretty common knowledge on campus.

I heard a muffled "STELLA!" and giggles in my theatre at that part.

I don't know about that, but I felt it good enough to email your link to a couple of friends. Thanks for confirming my apprehension regarding that poorly derived piece of Hollywoody.
