OMG IT'S GOING SO FAST HELP.

Don Cheadle! I love you, Don Cheadle! Also, I like your stripey tie. He is here to introduce a clip from Burn After Reading. "The Coen brothers--who, incidentally, have never hired me. Fargo! Macy was fine, but I woulda crushed it!" Brad Pitt at least seems to have grown out a goatee and trimmed that hideous Tarantino Movie I Refuse to Spell mustache down.

Eva Mendes, the star of The Spirit! She may want to pull that off her resume, I'm just saying.

HOLLYWOOD FOREIGN PRESS ASSN. PRESIDENT (Jorge Camara)

He requests and demands that you have a good time in a very festive accent! Olé!

Zac Efron (who may have slicked his hair down even harder since the red carpet) and Hayden Panettiere (strapless sequined black) are here to give out

BEST ACTOR, TV DRAMA

Gabriel Byrne, "In Treatment"
Michael C. Hall, "Dexter"
Jon Hamm, "Mad Men"
Hugh Laurie, "House M.D."
Jonathan Rhys Meyers, "The Tudors"

Huge cheers for both Hamm and Laurie. Gabriel Byrne wins (aw, yay!) and... is not present. Oh.

Chris Pine (bow tie) and Zachary Quinto (skinny tie) explain who they are in the new Star Trek movie, and then protest that they are not there to talk Trek. O...kay then.

BEST ACTRESS, TV DRAMA

Sally Field, "Brothers & Sisters"
Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: SVU"
January Jones, "Mad Men"
Anna Paquin, "True Blood"
Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer"

Y'all, I love Anna Paquin and I love True Blood, but even I don't think she was the best thing in the show. Aw, she's there with Stephen Moyer! I guess they're still dating! So cute. She wins (little black dress, spaghetti straps), and the announcer's all like, PREVIOUSLY SHE WAS NOMINATED FOR THE PIANO AND BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE. DID YOU KNOW THAT SHE WON AN OSCAR? NOW SHE HAS WON FOR A SOUTHERN GOTHIC VAMPIRE SOAP OPERA! Hee.

There are some angry Mad Men fans out there tonight, though.

I'm not surprised Zachary was wearing a skinny tie. I'm just sad he and Chris didn't gay it up on stage.

Ricky was amazing. I love him.

Me either, but Sally Hawkins was delightful in the new version of Persuasion the BBC did last year... and she so clearly did not expect to win, in that field of actresses. That little byplay with Emma Thompson was hilarious and so sweet.

Ricky Gervais FTW. And I really wanted Hugh Laurie to win if only for the awesomeness of his speeches.

Y'all, I love Anna Paquin and I love True Blood, but even I don't think she was the best thing in the show.

True she isn't the best thing about the show (no, that is Pam and Eric's arms and Eric), but the fact her and by extension the show is getting recognized makes me all kind of giddy!

And I love that she and Stephen are still together! (It would make work rather awkward as they just went back to filming!)

As much as I adore Paquin and Sookie, January Jones WUZ ROBBED. Her performance on MM was the height of subtlety. She broke my heart.

Oh, and Hamm wuz robbed, too. He was fantastic this year.

Rats.

January was robbed. And I think the subtlety of the performance is why.

TWO THINGS I MAY KILL PEOPLE FOR: Michael C. Hall not winning for Dexter, and January Jones not winning for Mad Men. They're both SO GOOD! If they each don't win like seventeen Emmys I shall be very pissed.
