Omg puppyspam!


This is Pete, my sister's Brittany spaniel puppy. Specifically, this is Pete when he first came home
from a farm a few weeks ago with some kind of stomach bug and was not feeling so good:




This is Pete looking sad--though healthy and usually in fine romping form--sometime last week.




This is why the only clear pictures of Pete are taken when he looks sad.




This is Pete as a parrot. Arrrrr.





This is Sam, our pomeranian, taken a few years ago, as a typical picture of what his fur normally looks like.




This is Sam (also a few years ago) after a summer cut. Sadly, this is one of his better summer cuts.




This is Sam last week, after his new stylist Alfonso freshened up his look. Alfonso cuts individual little tufts of fur
instead of shaving him bald and leaving him with a sharp neck frill like a gecko.
Note: Alfonso is real, and I am not making him up.




Sam has to visit Alfonso every five or six weeks to keep his sexy right.
Sam is now the most high-maintenance member of the family.




I had Sister Girl take some pictures of Scout and Shelby today, so next time--whenever that is--we'll catch up with them.

Cute doggies. I have an eleven year old miniature American Eskimo and she looks fabulous all the time. No maintenance at all, except rubbing off the extra hair and trimming her paws a bit. I also have a fourteen year old Maltese, and oh my god, she's the most high maintenance creature on the planet! It takes hours to maintain her look. I just get her cut short a few times a year and trim off the nots now. She just cannot take the grooming required any more. She hates it!

Also, Pete looks like the sort of puppy whose ears are velvety soft and much fun to play with, and he has intense charm.

Awww! Puppies!
I have a question - we have a Pom, too, who looks like he's a mound of fluff, but he is really heavy. Not fat, just... solid. His Mum is not as fluffy, but is very light.
So, is Sam heavy or light?
And I love Sam's haircut. We have to get ours shaved every summer, too, otherwise he would overheat, but the hairstylist doesn't cut his mane short enough, so the poor puppy ends up looking like a lion!

It's funny you should mention that, because it's a family joke that Sam is so heavy for his size. He's very small and muscular, no fat... but good Lord, is that dog dense.

Awwww! Your pictures make me miss having a dog. And then I remember how much easier it is to just have the cats, who let themselves in and out of the house, and don't eat my chocolate and my underwear, and I am content to simply look at the pictures.

Pete makes me think of Jerry, the English springer spaniel I had for ten months last year (after having rescued him from a shelter) and who I had to re-home to a family in Pennsylvania because he simply wasn't a city dog and is probably happier there, with land to roam and a bitch to keep him company.

I think about him all the time, and talk about him all the time, because although I sent along my contact info, plus his toys, treats, and a CARE package, I never heard from the people again and am pretty bitter about that. Six months ago I did adopt another dog, who is doing very well, however.
