It says "Updated Hourly." So is that just a testament to the last hour (which would be no surprise at all) or total pre-orders for all time (which would be delicious schadenfreude)?
Oh, that's the current number of pre-orders they have on the system. Obviously, once a book ships, it's not on there anymore. Hell, *I* held #1 for a day or so and I only sold 5000 copies.
Still, it's impressive that Beedle could have more pre-orders on the entire system than a book that's been on there for months and is coming out tomorrow (as in, anyone who wants to pre-order, has).
Oh, and also, no one even knew that Beedle was going to be published for the general public until this morning. All those pre-orders happened in the last, oh, twelve hours.
