Heeeee. The thing is, Meyer actually has the rough draft of the first chapter of Midnight Sun (Twilight basically rewritten from Edward's point of view, with 200% more snark, so I look forward to it like Christmas) on her site, and he actually talks about how, the first day he met Bella, he spent the whole afternoon imagining different ways he could sneak off with her and kill her. So technically, if anyone gives me shit about it, I can claim that my icon is totally sincere! and not snarking on the fact that Kristen Stewart looks like she's been knocked upside the head.

Oh wow, there was a Twilight trailer in front of Penelope (which Husband and I rented last night) and it seriously made me rethink the wisdom of my movie choice. It was sort of a "making of" scene, and what we both noticed was that both actors had a really funny expression...after watching the entire trailer, we realized they looked embarrassed the entire time. Far be it from me (huge fan of zombie B flicks) to say that every film has to be a Noble Epic Of Which To Be Proud, but if the main message of your trailer is "Even the lead actors are embarrassed to be seen filming this!", there's something wrong.

Yay, vampire baseball! Now on ESPN2! It's Miskatonic University against Transylvania State, first pitch at 11 pm.

The tree-leaping scene, oh good God, why do I need to remind Hollywood that jumping -- even very strong, very fast jumping -- is a parabolic arc, not a straight line. Yes, that scene is where I gave up. *shrug*

See, I'll take the tree-leaping, because in the book he's just able to run so fast that it's like he's not moving at all. I mean, that's great and all, but... I don't think it would have filmed very well. So... flying-squirrel vampires it is!

Oh man, YES, THE UNIFORMS. Oh, that just made my morning. This movie is gonna be like candy when it comes out. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a cheesefest movie this much. Although at the rate these clips are coming out, we'll have seen the whole movie by the time it comes out anyway.

Honestly, it looks a bit like a fan-made YouTube movie. But then, maybe that's just...the way the trailer is cut? I dunno, I don't think I feel like making excuses for Twilight!

The Dr.Horrible thing...it started out kind of, "What, what the hell is this?" But NPH had my heart from the moment he started singing the laundry song. OMGAWESOME.

The LOLs are going to be EPIC once this finally comes out. I still haven't read it. I tried to when it first came out, but ended up nearly tossing it across the room in sheer disgust. Had I known how campy it was, I would have tried harder. Now I need to read it just so I can enjoy all the fandom wank.

Dr. Horrible actually surprised me with how cute and kind of sweet it was. I wasn't expecting it.

Since this is amateur fast-pitch softball I was hoping for uniforms with the logo of the sponsor on the back. Since they're in the Pacific Northwest, I was hoping for The Starbucks Bloodsuckers or the Microsoft Monsters. Another product placement opportunity squandered. :-(

Also, why does the actress playing Bella have a permanent anorectic grimace? Makes her look like Karen Carpenter the week before she died. Is Bella supposed to actually *be* dead? Maybe in Midnight Sun we will learn that Edward succeeded in killing Bella in chapter 1, and for the next 3 volumes just carries her corpse around. That would explain SO MUCH.

Oh the trailer goodness does not end here, my dear. Because not only will you get to see the full Twilight trailer starting Thursday (tomorrow) afternoon over at Yahoo! but Joblo.com has released the teaser trailer for Terminator: Salvation which, along with Twilight, will be shown before The Dark Knight film. Add the 15 second HP movie teaser and the Watchmen trailer and I say it's going to be a fangirl's (or boy's) dream come true.

The Cullens just play games of pickup baseball out in some far-off empty meadow when there are thunderstorms in town (because they hit the ball so hard, you see, that they need the thunder to cover the sound), and they do their super-fast running thing and their super strength and their super... catching, I guess, and so a family of eight people, four on each side, needs this huge-ass field just to be able to play. But it's just the family.

Which is why it's hilarious that they have their own uniforms.
