Apparently we're in for some severe weather, possibly loss of power and/or internet connectivity, so if I disappear for a couple of days (I hope not), that's what's happened.

Wow, I can see it, and it's big, and it's coming right at you. Stay safe!

ETA: New fake memoir scandal. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/04/books/04fake.html?ex=1362286800&en=d08501d03abb7a10&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink) Really, what IS it with these people?

Wow, that's ridiculous. The irony is that it sounds like she knew a lot of people who had similar experiences to what she passed off as her own. She could have written about THEM and their experiences in complete honesty and maybe had a successful book. Now she'll just be known as a liar.

How stupid ARE people?

Clearly, you need to invest in a generator, and satellite internet. The posting must go on!

Ugh, we've been having the same problems, down here in Southern California. We've been getting terrible winds as of late, and it keeps knocking down our power generators. :|

I have a story.

Okay, a friend rec'd me your journal because your movie parodies were hilarious. So, I was browsing through the tags and I click on the Jane Austen one and saw a blurb about snow in Birmingham and I spit out my coffee.

Girl, I live off 280.

Not that that makes us best buds :D, but I've honestly never found someone on LJ from Birmingham I didn't already know.

Cool!

So I flagged your comment in my email to go back and reply to it, and that was, uh, two weeks ago. I suck.

Hi! I love running into fellow Birmingham...ians? (Birminghamsters?) online. I'm near Samford, myself.

LOL! S'ok. I have comments from two weeks ago that I still need to get to.

I like the hamsters. I shall use that one. *makes a note*

I actually went to school at Samford for a bit. Have you been here forever (like moi)?

Nooo. What will I do if you aren't posting? (It's all about me, of course. Heh.)

In other topics, did you know there's a sci-fi/fantasy convention in Alabama in May? MobiCon, (http://www.mobicon.org/about.php) in Mobile (and, er, I know nothing about Alabama geography, so is that far?). Anyway, I remember we talked once about how you wanted to go to some cons if you had money, and this one's kind of close so I thought I'd alert you. One of my friends is one of the guests and just mentioned it. (http://www.mobicon.org/guest_beauchamp-d.php)
