Apparently we're in for some severe weather, possibly loss of power and/or internet connectivity, so if I disappear for a couple of days (I hope not), that's what's happened.
Wow, I can see it, and it's big, and it's coming right at you. Stay safe!
ETA: New fake memoir scandal. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/04/books/04fake.html?ex=1362286800&en=d08501d03abb7a10&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink) Really, what IS it with these people?
Wow, that's ridiculous. The irony is that it sounds like she knew a lot of people who had similar experiences to what she passed off as her own. She could have written about THEM and their experiences in complete honesty and maybe had a successful book. Now she'll just be known as a liar.
Ugh, we've been having the same problems, down here in Southern California. We've been getting terrible winds as of late, and it keeps knocking down our power generators. :|
Okay, a friend rec'd me your journal because your movie parodies were hilarious. So, I was browsing through the tags and I click on the Jane Austen one and saw a blurb about snow in Birmingham and I spit out my coffee.
Girl, I live off 280.
Not that that makes us best buds :D, but I've honestly never found someone on LJ from Birmingham I didn't already know.
Nooo. What will I do if you aren't posting? (It's all about me, of course. Heh.)
In other topics, did you know there's a sci-fi/fantasy convention in Alabama in May? MobiCon, (http://www.mobicon.org/about.php) in Mobile (and, er, I know nothing about Alabama geography, so is that far?). Anyway, I remember we talked once about how you wanted to go to some cons if you had money, and this one's kind of close so I thought I'd alert you. One of my friends is one of the guests and just mentioned it. (http://www.mobicon.org/guest_beauchamp-d.php)
