All right, I'm coming out of hibernation after about five years in a musical cocoon. Listening to KLEO I've discovered I really like Air. I seem to be getting a lot of French pop/electronica as well, which is good. Any recommendations for people with a similar sound I can add to my station?

Oh, and Brassy--Vladimir and I listened to my station so much that we used up all my non-paying user time (what? I don't know, either), and so I can still listen to it, but he can't, so he moved on to your station, and he likes it a lot. In fact, I think you just poached my one listener. ;)

In more mundane news, Sister Girl made a Bing cherry and almond-biscotti-crust cheesecake (I told y'all she's going into the Culinard, right?), and we all ate so much for lunch that I was useless the entire afternoon. So much for getting Black Ribbon or my Fairwood chapters done. And there's still strawberry shortcake to come.

HA! Holy hell! I'm wearing an Air t-shirt right now! That's crazy. It looks all 80s because I hate the collars (that looks like I spelled it wrong) and so I cut them off and since it used to belong to my cousin's husband (so what, my cousin-in-law?) it was really long and I wound up cutting about 8 inches off the bottom. Yeah... I'm so gonna bring Flashdance back. ;)

Are you a maniac, maniac, maniac on the floor? Are you going to dance like you've never danced before? ;)

Hahaha!

No but I might just start feeling like a sexy, sexy girl.

Ok, so that was a really desperate attempt at being all Airish. You know, "Sexy boy"....?

And I was thinking about wearing that 80s shirt to class tomorrow but I might bursting into giggles thinking of your comment everytime I look down at my chest. And if I do that people will be all "Wow, she REALLY likes her boobs."

*sigh* It's tricky!

I don't know your sister at all, but I think she'll probably really like Culinard. Now when massage students take nutrition, they take a class tailored to them, but when I took it, I took it with the Culinard students. I was sooo jealous of them the day they got their little toolboxes jampacked with all kinds of cooking gadgets.

Hey, you too can have a toolbox... FOR A THOUSAND DOLLARS. (Cue Psycho "Ree! Ree! Ree!" music as we close in on my mother's face.)

As for the Culinard--hell, I think I would like the Culinard, but I'm just gonna have to stick with plain old UAB for now.

Air-esque, but British...I think: Zero-7. They're sort of played out but I have a fondness. And for good French music there's Francoise Hardy and Stereolab...neither of which sound that much like Air, but they're French pop, at least.

Yay! I'll give them four-star ratings to get them into heavy rotation and try them out, thanks. I feel really pretentious being like, "I'm looking for French pop," but... it really does seem to have its own sort of relatively laid-back flavor. You know, like how by comparison Swedish pop is so aggressively bouncy. (And God bless 'em for it.)

Eh? How on earth does that work? Bad Yahoo.

so he moved on to your station, and he likes it a lot.

Yay! I am pleased. I've not had time to play around with it for a couple of days so hopefully I can do that today - need to up the number of ratings considerably :)

Any recommendations for people with a similar sound I can add to my station?

Air are gorgeous, I'm not sure I know anyone that's similarly chilled out really. Hmmm, possibly Aim (if they're on there) and going old school with Portishead is always a good thing to do.
You might like Moby as well, if you don't already.
If it's specifically French you're looking for then my knowledge is weak but Daft Punk do chilled out and funky upbeat stuff that's pretty good.

You need to spearhead the 'Get Vladimir a LiveJournal campaign' by the way.

Ladies, ladies! I'm v. flattered. However, as Cleo certainly knows - - I'm actually swamped with a bonafide LiveJournal right now. So what if it's not in my own name, but is actually a horribly eclectic novel masquerading as a LJ by one Neven Pezdec, PhD? And lately, what with being forced to translate a book per month, I haven't been able to do even Neven justice...

Rest assured, Brassy, I've spent many lovely moments working to the tunes you picked. Bless you for that :)
