Okay, how do you put those links at the bottom for the hungersite and all that? I've been looking around LJ trying to figure it out, and I'm now wondering if it's paid accounts only, so I figured I'll just ask you.

I don't actually know a l33t LJ way to do it--I just manually paste the code in for each new entry. Since I use Semagic, I just open the previous entry and get it from there.

It's worse: I think Stallone's wanted to make the film for over 20 years. The "Do what now?" factor can't really be conveyed by just the words "Do what now?"

I heard he's writing a sequel, I wonder if there wasn't some payola involved. Not that Oprah really needs more money. (And maybe she's an unimpeachable pillar of integrity; I'm not interested in her and know very little about her.)

Cleo - if you look at this and find it suitable, it may be something you'd wish to mention:

One Laptop Per Child (http://www.laptopgiving.org/en/index.php) is a program designed around producing tough, simple, and cheap laptops for poor children worldwide (and I have to say the design of these things is awesome). In general, the project is to supply laptops in bulk to schools, etc, but from now until November 26, folks in the US and Canada can do Give One Get One - for about $400, get your own, and have one donated to a participating organization. It may not be your bag, but it's a cool idea, and a neat looking kid's laptop, and I just wanted to mention it!

3) this Poe film is the bane of my existence. I am glad that Poe is starting to get cool in Hollywood because i LOVE him, but gah. A "reimagining" of the Tell Tale Heart and a Stallone film are not what i've been craving. WOE.

That first Golden Compass TV spot - "Legend tells of the last golden compass; whoever can read it has the power to rule the universe." Wha??? There's either going to be some mightily disappointed book lovers or some very confused moviegoers out there.

I don't ask that they get it right...Gods know that's just too much to ask of Hollywood these days. But if they got it somewhere in the same general vicinity of the first continent somewhere off to the left of them getting it right? Surely they could manage that much!

The second clip isn't quite as upsetting. Now maybe I can sit through the rest of them without having a meltdown.
