This is just to check in and say that I'm afraid I may be coming down with whatever Death Flu my mother has (although she is pleased that y'all enjoyed the story about Gerald), so I'm taking yet another night off linkspam. Also, the house is in an uproar of cleansitude because Sister Girl's out-of-towner boyfriend is coming to stay for the weekend, so we're all Cinderella's mice right now.

Aw, sorry to hear it. Feel better, and let the linkspam stew for awhile.

P.S. Am on book 2 of His Dark Materials but had to stop and pack for trip; OMG want to read more!

1.) Maybe you should get Gerald to help.

2.) Seriously, some days I live for your LJ.

Everyone seems to be coming down with something these days. My eyes and nose were runny, head and nose congested... ugh. I'm a huge medicator so I was over it quickly (thank gawd). This morning, however, I experienced a little light-headedness and nausea. SO hoping it's not a tummy flu. Feel better now though.

Hope you feel TONS better REAL soon.

Ugh. Feel better soon. Death Flu = bad.

By the way, do you have any plans to discuss the WGA strike?

Uhh, that would be once you're feeling better. Just to clarify.

Actually, I'm not sick yet--it was more of a preemptive "I'm going to take another night off substantial blogging and have a liedown." But--hmm. Well, I've posted links about the strike, and I have more links to post. I don't know about actually discussing it, though--I did find one link that explains the teensy amount of money the writers want vs. the huge gigantic profits the studios already make anyway. I just don't know that there's really anything to discuss--I mean, my mom's going to be mad that 24's just flat out been canceled for the next season (I mean, I assume they'll show it the season or year after that), but the writers are so clearly in the right and so clearly undercompensated that I don't know what there is to talk about, really.

Heh. Really I just meant linkspam, I guess. Your pithy comments on linkspam items constitute excellent discussion in and of themselves. I must have overlooked the links you posted, but thanks for letting me know.

I don't know if you've seen this before, but it made me giggle:

Not to bug you while you're sick, but have you seen this:

James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing (http://www.elderscrossing.com)

The only place I'm finding reports are in the Australian media (my bf, [livejournal.com profile] sf_dtail_49 pointed it out, because he's in the Australian media). I've posted my thoughts on my LJ.

Yeah, I have--over here: http://www.journalfen.net/community/clairvoyantwank/405376.html

Some of the language on the site ("I'll be releasing tidbits") seems very personal, which is why I think it's a fan effort. Also, someone pointed out that they're using a free stats counter--not WB's style. I really think it's someone who's either a good web designer, knows one, or hired one, who wants to continue JKR's story through Harry's son (I definitely agree with you on that point) and is about to get lawyered up the ass.

Hey--they've figured out what it is:

http://www.journalfen.net/community/clairvoyantwank/405376.html?thread=17467264#t17467264

Googling seems to turn up a guy with a strong web design/animation background who's writing a post-DH fanfic. He had better clear up the whole continuing-the-story misleading-the-public thing, because WB's lawyers are NOT in a good mood right now--the Lexicon thing is still going on and RDR Books is still being ridiculous about it.

Aha! Nice work done there. I'm both impressed and terrified by their skillz.

Thanks for the heads up!
