Sigh. I'm having one of those days where I'm perfectly happy and content and pleasant by myself, on my own, doing my own thing, but as soon as someone interrupts me it's like, I KEEL YOU, BIATCH! Some days I just get like that--sounds seem harsher, textures seem rougher, my temper is shorter.
Not only that, but I was also completely useless today. But it felt good. Played Neoquest II most of the day while musing over the children's book draft. I got some really good suggestions on chapter one last night, as to how to reorganize the whole thing so that half the characters don't assault you in the first paragraph (which is what the
writer_girls pointed out as well). I'll probably rewrite it before I post the rest of it. Which did not, incidentally, get workshopped, because my mother offered to print me all the copies I needed to bring, and when I got to class I checked the envelope, chapters 2 and 3 were completely not there ("Oh... there were three attachments?"). Serves me right for 1) not checking the envelope and 2) living at home, I guess.
Rereading Lemony Snicket #2, because it's a nice break from Uncle Tom's Cabin, which is not only morally awkward for the modern reader, but badly written to boot.
Still struggling with Black Ribbon.
Going to go take a bubblebath.

I'm sorry; I don't know how they got in here. I'll go call the Orkin Man.
