I have no idea what it's about, but EW or USAToday or someone said it was good. I don't know why I feel so... low-key?... about Lost these days. I mean, they went and broke out the Two Towers trailer music for the previews, y'all. Clearly we're supposed to be on the edge of our proverbial seats. Or something.

i'm still digesting the news that the island is really sperm island and juliet is out to get kate's fluids o_O

and just out of curiosity but did you ever watch heroes this season? i'm a big fan of both shows and it seemed like a show you might be into

*muttermutterpapersmutter*

My friends are shocked that this is the third week I've given up Lost.

I hear you on that one. I've been writing non-stop this week. Was going to wait until Sunday to watch it but finally broke down this evening. I needed a break. Turns out it wasn't necessarily a relaxing episode to watch and I ended up being MORE tense afterwards than I was before. Go figure.

This will be the first week I've actually watched it on TV. I usually have to catch it later on the ABC website.

I've been feeling a bit the same way lately, actually...but this episode is really good so far. It's starting to get really interesting again. The past few episodes were kind of "whatever", but the one about Muffin was really good and I like this one.

Shutting up now.

It's just seeming weirder and weirder to me. I'm watching, but not enjoying so much.

You know, I'm feeling low-key about it too, lately. I think it's because, even though most episodes have been real interesting as of late, they strung us along for so.long. that it's a bit hard to care now that they're trying to break out the guns.

Is Lost really 3/4 over, and there are only 7 posts here?

This week is interesting enough that maybe nobody's willing to split their attention? Or, maybe they're so sick of the season that they're just not watching.

Ok, I'm agreeing with last week's comments--

if they squashed the purgatory theory, then why are they suggesting it's hell?? Maybe in hell they have access to current events so they can stay extra tortured. :p

I don't think they're really saying "Yes, the island is actually Hell," (who knows if they'll ever explain things directly), but it's interesting that they're suggesting it.

So far I really like this episode! Somehow I never drew the connection of sawyer's con man daddy figure and Locke's conman dad.

There's one Lost character that I'm really not sad to see die.

Speaking of people dying, Nikki and Paolo must really be dead by now, or else we're in for n extra awesome zombie-style comeback.

I think a lot of us are feeling low-key about it these days. I hate being a Lost deserter because I loved it so much, but it's missing its edge lately. They're writing such varied plot twists and weirdness, and while they are trying to give us answers, none of it has felt "right" or satisfying like it used to. I suppose it was inevitable - a show as good as this one had to slip from grace and lose that hold it had over us at some point, and I think the point is here. It makes me sad, really, but there's no denying it. I worry this will happen to Heroes next season because that show is so beyond amazing at the moment, and I don't know how they will continue to cling to that momentum and fantastic writing. But we'll see. (I agree with the person that asked if you watch Heroes , by the way. If you don't, you really ought to check it out when you can. Fantastic stuff. Weird, but in a really awesome way. Plus, there's a couple of good pieces of eye candy, too. Hee.)

Tonight's episode is really good, I think, because it's starting to suggest some answers that really do feel right, like the old big reveals. There was nothing major, but you can tell they're getting there. They gave us something to think about with this episode, which used to always be the case, but hasn't been as much the case this season, unfortunately.

Dear Cleolinda,
This has been driving me nuts for ages (don't ask me why, my brain is funny like that): what is the reference in your LOST icon (this is why we can't have nice things!) I'm sure its from the season 1 recaps, but I've been living in Madagascar and Mauritius, and so I can't look through the episodes just now. If it is easily explainable, I'd love to hear it so my brain can rest! Cheers,
Jessica (long time fan and lurker :) )

The short answer is that it's from the second half of the pilot (I think...) when Kate takes the gun away from Sawyer, takes it apart, and gives half of it to Sawyer and half of it to Sayid, at which point I said, "This is why we can't have nice things!," and [livejournal.com profile] frodosgoosegirl made me the icon. The long answer is that I have no idea where the phrase itself came from--it's one of those things I've heard a lot without really knowing what the original reference is, kind of like "Damn kids! Get off my lawn!" That kind of thing.
