They just cannot say pregnant woman die on the island when everyone can turn around and see Clair. So far nothing about conception, just pregnancy.

The plot point that almost worked, except for Jack's half sister with the kid.

Women who conceive on the island die. Claire was pregnant before the plane crash so she was okay.

During Juliet's second episode she argued with Ben about that, she said that it was impossible to carry a pregnancy to term when the woman conceived on Craphole Island. She wanted to try and see if conception off-island would work but he shot that idea down.

I believe she said "Eu não estou só," which is "I am not alone" in Portuguese. It could've also been "Yo no estoy solo" which is the same thing in Spanish, but since she was switching languages (and muttering) it was difficult to tell.

Hee, we watched Romeo + Juliet in English class and now if they come back, I'll just start cracking up every time I see him.

Seriously, though, they can't have gotten to the outside world. I mean. Was there even stuff to survive off of on that boat? They can't seriously think they'll catch fish constantly to survive off of.

as for the first question -- I think the point is that the flight was reported as having no survivors (probably by Team Other), so that no rescue team would be sent.

as for the second-- I just asked the same thing! If your memory needs refreshing, check several comments up, cos someone posted the debunking quote.
