Date: 2007-04-24 04:40 am (UTC)stolereferenced a ton of lines from the book in this one as it was--and having a lot of space between posts helps that. At the same time, if you don't post often enough, no one's around to see you successfully not repeat yourself, so...no subject

Date: 2007-04-24 05:05 am (UTC)I laughed like a maniac throughout, but "L'awkward" and "This-this is not mellow!" really had me rolling in aisle, as it were. (By the way, did "not mellow" mirror "This is not groovy at all!" on purpose? I thought that was a great parallel, if it did).
Hi! I'm new to LJ, but I've been a reader of yours for about a year and a half.

Date: 2007-04-24 08:20 pm (UTC)Yeah, I know. Sigh. I'm kind of getting the impression that you're constraining yourself a little, is all. You're a professional writer now, so pretty much anything you write is going to be decent, even if it doesn't blow your own socks off, so I think you can afford to experiment a little. (You were talking on SF recently about tricks to psych yourself into writing -- if you outright tell people that you're doing writing experiments, that might free you up to not worry about it? Basically don't treat them as "real" pieces, just scraps. Then if you do find something workable, it could be expanded. I'm totally brainstorming out loud here, heh.)
