Monday afternoon, a little bleary
Mar. 12th, 2007 01:05 pmWhee! I get an hour and a half off from dogsitting! And how am I spending it? With a frozen yogurt sundae and pirate porn. Yeah, this is not how I expected my afternoon to go.
It's slightly disorganized, but I think this takes care of my backlog, after some careful pruning of redundant redundancy.
Comedian Richard Jeni dies in apparent suicide. CNN remembers a few of his best lines ("I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I'm thinking, OK, here's a gal who's capable of making a decision she'll regret in the future").
Kidnapped newborn found in good condition.
Dems cancel debate over Fox chief's joke.
FEMA kicks Katrina refugees out of trailer park without warning.
New climate report: More bad news. "The harmful effects of global warming on daily life are already showing up, and within a couple of decades hundreds of millions of people won't have enough water, top scientists will say next month at a meeting in Belgium."
Probe begun after 3 fires, 4 deaths in Chicago.
Mayans to 'cleanse' site visited by Bush.
'Law & Order' star considers real Oval Office role.
Has Ann Coulter hit her tipping point? "She sometimes goes out of her way to push some buttons and tends to generate more heat than light," [Jim Bell, Today show executive producer] said. "We love a lively debate, but we would tend to get people who would generate more light."
France's Chirac poised to end political career.
German man chainsaws house in two in divorce split--and "mak[es] off with his half in a forklift truck."
Accused child molester flees to go on 'Springer.'
Snoop Dogg jailed overnight in Sweden. That... that is not how I expected that sentence to end.
Americans lovingly stuffing pets with pills.
Out: The goldendoodle. In: The toyger.
The Non-Adventures of Wonderella.
The Angelina Jolie Hands-Free Multiple Child Carrier.
Three lost actors rescued. Lost actors, not Lost actors--"The Aspen Ski Patrol had to lead actors Rob Morrow, Chad Lowe and Fisher Stevens to safety after they and other skiers got lost."
'300' Takes In Nearly $30 Million On Friday Alone; 300... and 70 Million Dollars, breaking March box office records.
Scuffle mars Hurley's Indian wedding. Elizabeth Hurley, y'all.
Band to perform Beatles album that never was.
Gyllenhaal in Final Talks To Replace Holmes in Batman sequel.
TV anchor: "I was sexually abused by Catholic priest."
Holloway Criticizes Hawaii Police for Targeting 'Lost' Stars.
King's Dark Tower becoming comic book.
MPAA Wants New Rating For 'Hard R.' Didn't we already go through this once with the whole NC-17 thing?
Speaking of which, Transformers Fought MPAA. I'm kind of imagining Transformers porn now, and I'm not liking it.
New Images of Fred and George Flight to Freedom, Ginny and More.
Speed Racer Moves Up its Release Date to May 9, 2008.
Goran Visnjic rumoured to be next Bond villain.
trailer_spot: Waitress, Paprika, Ten 'til Noon, 300.
James Cromwell: "I Say a Lot of Things I Shouldn't." ("James Cromwell, who plays Jane Austen's father in 'Becoming Jane', didn't get on with its director; nor was he impressed with the writer of his previous film, 'The Queen'. He also finds working with 'dames' awkward, and had 'real problems' with appearing in '24'.")
A couple of new POTC3 posters in the mix at IGN. Hi-res versions here. Meanwhile, Disney Angered Over Comic Pirates Porn. "Filmmakers Disney are reportedly considering legal action against Sinful Comics after they produced a raunchy strip featuring Pirates Of The Caribbean actors. British newspaper The Sun reports Sinful have created a comic strip, which sees movie beauty Keira Knightley being seduced by co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom at the same time." I regret to say that my first reaction to this item was, "And we can see this where?" (ETA: Oh dear. Seriously, you guys? They're not kidding. Not safe for work or perhaps even life.)

Gyllenhaal in Final Talks To Replace Holmes in Batman sequel
I read that as Jake G., not Maggie, and my mind went all kinds of interesting slashy places...

Date: 2007-03-12 08:17 pm (UTC)Cleo (and friends of Cleo,) quick question about The Prestige. I swear to God that when I saw the film in the theater, you saw Christian Bale do the whole Transported Man trick the first time it is introduced. Watching my new dvd the other night, the scene only showed Michael Caine's reaction to the trick and showed the whole trick later in the film, when CB's life flashed before his eyes. Am I misremembering, or did they edit this part of the film for the switch to DVD?

Date: 2007-03-12 09:09 pm (UTC)...And also that when I saw "pirate porn" I got really excited because I thought someone could finally tell me where to get the X-rated version of Pirates (http://www.amazon.com/Pirates-R-Rated-Version-Jesse-Jane/dp/B000FMGTNU/ref=sr_1_9/102-0908116-4817754?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1173733673&sr=1-9)? Yo, if anyone knows where to find that, give me a holla.
