I'm a little furious right now at a domestic development, so let's focus on the positive, shall we?

[livejournal.com profile] captainsblog with conversion software for the win! (I finally remembered that Zamzar is also good for online conversion.) Download a zip of all four Prince mp3s: the conversion is really good (and I can say this having had the flv file on repeat last night), and I trimmed off the announcements at the beginning and the end (the quality service you have come to expect from this journal).

The original conversions. I may be hallucinating, but the sound seems sharper for not having been fussed with. However, you'll have to crank the volume way up.

Volume maxed. Better for playing alongside other mp3s--you won't have to dive for the volume knob.

Here's the best part: I have absolutely no idea who won the Super Bowl. I have no idea who played. I hear bears may have been involved.

Awesome! I envy you- I thought I was safe... "'Hubby' is a Bears fan...? score, I'll NEVER have to care about a Superbowl..."

Bears and horses, I think.

Have you a link to the commercials? I can't seem to find out which Dorito ad won, and was shown. I am not a good searcher.

Thanks for all the Prince links -- I missed him last night but hoped the internets would provide today, and you have done so and more.

I read that part and immediately thought, "Stephen Colbert may have something to say about that." ;)

*knows NOTHING about Superbowl*

bears v colts... and colts won... right? I only know because my friend decided the bears should have won because in an actual fight between a bear and a horse, a bear totally would have mauled itself to a win.

Oh as I put it, you don't see wild horses attacking innocent campers do you? So bears for the win! ... of course if horsies were attacking campers that'd prolly be scarier....

I dunno about that - have you ever seen an angry momma horse? They may not exactly have fangs or claws, but they can be pretty terrifying.

Have you heard of Rosa Loves (http://www.rosaloves.com/)? I linked them in my lj today but it won't hurt to pass their name around more. Here's their self-description:

First, we meet an individual, family, or a community in need. We get to know them, hear their story, and design a shirt inspired by what we’ve learned. Each T-shirt design is hand printed on sweatshop free apparel. The outside tells the story through illustration. The inside tells the story through words which are printed directly over the heart. Shirts are sold on our website. After the projected amount has been made to supply the need, we stop printing and selling the shirt, making each one part of a limited run. Finally and most importantly, we hand deliver the gift and meet the need. Friendships are made, lives are changed, and the process repeats itself with new people and new needs.

I don't remember it being set up this way the first time you posted it, but Zamzar now requires an email address, and their privacy policy states that they do in fact keep them. :[

I wish I had no idea who played in the Super Bowl. Everyone up here in Chicago went completely nuts and I am just glad it is over. For example, the pastor and worship team at my church all wore matching Bears shirts on Sunday morning. Such craziness.

Part of the reason I never care about the Super Bowl--well, the real reason I don't care is because I don't care about football, period. But since Alabama's never involved, that's just double the reason not to care. My mom, on the other hand, is a Peyton Manning fan. Also, any excuse to cook little hot dogs wrapped in bacon.

I <3 you so much for teh Prince audio. I actually forgot I was watching football when he was on. Hell, I tried to shush my 14 month old son so I could hear his awesomeness.

By any chance, do you have video footage I can d/l? Also, I feel that you should make a bunch of Prince/Superbowl icons. You are the mistress of icons and this just calls for a Cleo touch. :) (If you know of any Prince/Superbowl icons made already, link me please!!)

Well, I have this one (points up) so far. Do you have the Firefox browser? What I did was use the VideoDownloader extension and grab the files (save as whatever.flv) off YouTube.

Okay, here's what went down at the Superbowl:
Stephen Colbert, pseudo-right-wing news anchor of the GODS, and his nemesis, the KODAK BEAR OF DOOM, settled their grudge match once and for all on the football field. The bear got p-4-w-n-d and went crying home to its mommy. Then Prince came on and all was well.
The end.
