If you don't care about the show and decide to filter me off your main friends-list for the night, I will not take it amiss.

Oh God, the yearly Adapted Pop Song, please stop it. Just off hand, Helen Mirren looks good, Cate Blanchett's in black lace, Meryl Streep and Salma Hayek look good, Brangelina and Bennifer are present, I hate Cameron Diaz's hair, Justin Timberlake (awkward) has no hair, and Beyoncé's extensions are prodigious.

George Clooney! "Let's get started! Best Supporting Actress!" What, no pillow talk? Aww, Emily Blunt looks nice. "The first one goes to... Leonardo DiCaprio, strangely." Winner: Jennifer Hudson. Whose hair is fantastic, I have to add. I truly think she's a lock for an Oscar nomination and very possibly the award itself at this point. "I have always dreamed... but neva, eva this big... Because of this, it makes me feel like I'm part of a community." She's totally crying. She thanks Bill Condon, God, her boyfriend, [various people], everybody, her family, Paramount, Dreamworks, Hollywood Foreign Press, everyone in this room, and dedicates this award to Florence Ballard. I think. Simon Cowell? Can go screw.

Justin Timberlake, "one of the stars of the new film Alpha Dog." His lapels are a bit shiny, but he looks fairly sharp otherwise. Best Original Song. A Dreamgirls song, a Seal song, a Prince song, a Bryan Adams song, a Sheryl Crow song. "Leo again?" Winner: Prince, for Happy Feet. Justin stands there, looking around. Everyone looks around. "Well, uh, I guess Prince couldn't be here..." So he hunches down about a foot and says, "Well, uh, thank you." Oh, Justin.

Also, I don't know what level of hell these singing cookies came from, but someone's got to stop them.

Chips Ahoy?
Man, bad enough those cookies taste like cardboard and the Kibbler Elves make stuff
that totally wipes the floor with them. Now, they gotta sing and terrify people!
Oh the humanity...

(I totally shook Joel's hand last night. SQUEE!)

As someone who hates American Idol with an unholy passion, I want Jennifer Hudson to take every damn award she gets nominated for and then some. (And also, because she was AWESOME in that movie. But still.)

What happened to her on _American Idol_?

She got kicked off earlier than everybody thought she would or should. I try to ignore the goings-on on that stupid show, but I do remember that when she got kicked off all I heard every time I heard on radio and TV was, "She was robbed!"

And having heard her in the movie, if that's the way her voice sounded back then I don't know how the hell she got kicked off.

I thought it was kinda shitty that nobody bothered to tell JT that Prince wasn't there o_O

Also, I have yet to see Dreamgirls, but the buzz is rather awesome and I'm really glad Jennifer won. Whoo!

I will probably keep commenting to your comments throughout the night... hee.

I just saw it today and it's wonderful. The Best Supporting Actress Oscar is pretty much Jennifer Hudson's to lose -- her performance is amazing and when she performs "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" it honestly hurts.

Eddie Murphy's also frighteningly good as well. It's the best work I think I've ever seen from him.

I thought Justin was waiting for Prince to come up. It was so weird with him just standing there.

He was waiting, at least waiting for somebody... heh. That's why it was shitty that nobody mentioned that Prince wasn't there... usually they have the "So-and-so couldn't be here to accept this award, so so-and-so/I am accepting this on his/her behalf."

But noooo, let's just leave Justin high and dry... eh heh.

I know, they should have mentioned it to him cause the look on his face was like, "Ummm, when is Prince coming up here?" lol

Strangely enough: I just saw Prince sitting in the audience!

I did too. I wonder if he was out having a smoke or something.... (or in the bathroom, like someone was a few years ago!)

Justin keeps clinching himself more and more as my celebrity boyfriend. He's already there, but every time I see him, he does something even FUNNIER to make me love him more. The Prince thing just killed me.

Also, my mom and I cackled at the singing cookies. We're easily entertained.

HAHAHAHA. Omg. The awkward JT/Prince debacle was hilaaaaarious. I like how the camera just kind of stared at him and he was just kind of like "O_O" for awhile and then awkwardly realized that no one was getting up. Soawesome.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for embarassing moments :P

OMG, my mom and I are doing our respective work and the cookies started singing and we just sort of raised our heads and stared at the screen. Tf?!?!?!

This kind of black lace? (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/alpheratz/Cate_Blanchett_3twon.jpg?t=1168911590) Yummy.

Also, should I feel bad about not ever having heard of Jennifer Hudson before? Who is she?

She is one of the actresses in Dreamgirls, and was formerly kicked off of American Idol which, as my mom points out, is the biggest favor they ever did her.

She starred in "Dreamgirls", but she got famous from being a finalist on American Idol.

WTF, Leo? I don't get it?

I'm happy for JHud though - and yeah, take that, Simon Cowell! Who needs the AI crown, when you can be an Oscar winner? ;-)

Justin hunching down was kinda funny. :-)

Leo is nominated twice for best actor. Hence, the joke.

Respectfully, THANKYOU!

Thankyou for LJ-cutting the GG Award results! Someone else on my Friends-list didn't, but I appreciate that you took the time to (and thanks for respecting the fact that others may not have seen the GGs yet). I'll read ALL your GG posts after the GGs air tonight (in South Australia), OK? ;D

Bless. If nothing else, I wanted people who just didn't want to hear about them at all to be able to skip over the entires as neatly as possible, but yeah, spoilers are always an issue when you have award shows and multiple time zones. : )
