Hey, this is cool. Stole it from [livejournal.com profile] hollywoodsmile7, who says it's going around:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. Some we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they're obsessed with so-and-so."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

[livejournal.com profile] hollywoodsmile7's: Awww, this is cool. I'm from Alabama and I turn 25 on Sunday. "Cleolinda" is a lot more fun than my real name, Lauren, and at least I'm the only Cleolinda in the room at any given time. I love movies, particularly LOTR at the moment, and run a news site that I have not updated in a month, because I suck, but I am hoping to stop sucking tonight and update it.

[livejournal.com profile] eclectica's: Heeee, seriously. My problem is repeating myself, so I'm trying to think of something different to say on each journal. Hmm. Well, I'm the kind of person who says, "Dammit, it's four a.m. and I can't sleep. Where's Heaney's Beowulf, I haven't read that yet." And then I squee when I see words like "Theoden" and "Hama" and "Eomer" in there, and Heorot is like, totally the Golden Hall, man, and Theodred's funeral in the EE is almost word for word the way Heaney translates Beowulf's. Except that Theodred is not on fire. I am nerdtastic. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] brassyn: I'm not big on the phrasing of that (too schlocky) but the sentiment is fine. Doesn't have to be anything interesting: for example, 'that Fern Britton's a bit of alright' would suffice.

[livejournal.com profile] cleolinda: 'that Fern Britton's a bit of alright.' Snerk. Hmmm. "Most likely to wrestle you for Viggo Mortensen" sounds about right.

[livejournal.com profile] brassyn: Fern actually made headlines a few years ago when she left her husband to shack up with a toyboy, so Viggo's probably too old :)

[livejournal.com profile] cleolinda: Heeee. I meant me. Consider yourself warned. ;)

[Mud-wrestling rears its slippery head.]

I've lost track of the people that have done this meme, I may have to give in yet.

Me:
I'm natalie (go by nat mostly), and I'm 24. Currently meandering in a job I don't really like because the English degree I have hasn't gotten me anywhere. I love films and I love music. Am extremely shy.

Awww. I think you do need to give in. ;)

You know what the weird thing is? I'm a total wallflower IRL, hate having to use the phone, hate having to meet strangers. I mean, I've gotten a lot better since high school, but yeah. And yet online, I'm a total schmooze. Go figure.

I think I got over most of my shyness when I was running poetry readings in college. I looked out over the room and realized I was the least nervous person there. I'd always been afraid of people before, and with the perspective switched like that, I suddenly wasn't afraid anymore.

Well, a lot less afraid, let's put it that way.

This is cool. It's been going around? Hmm, haven't seen it before.

Anyway, a bit about me:
I'm Joanna; 23; things I love: Kitties, LOTR, short track speed skating and one speed skater (http://www.apoloportal.net) in particular, reading, weblogging, inline skating, vegging out, traveling. I could go on, but don't want this to start to sound like a personals ad! ;)

From the ages of a about 6 to 16, I was ridiculously afraid of dogs. Why? Well, because when I was 5 and learning how to ride my bike without training wheels, I ran into the side of a big angry dog. This big angry dog then chased me and my bike for blocks!. I learned how to ride my bike that day and developed a fear of dogs. Now, I love 'em.
