And I'm an ass. My boyfriend comes in and tells me this, and I immediately crack off with SNL references before I notice his expression and say, "...what, for real?"

:(

I feel like I'm in one of those old Looney Tunes cartoons where Bugs turns into a giant heel.

Hmm!

They haven't released a cause of death yet. Perhaps he really was mauled to death by lions in a convenience store.

It's truly a symbol of my youth that I looked at that and said: "Who...?"

'The statement did not say where Ford died or list a cause of death.'

Cause of death: BEING 93.

So, is Carter now the oldest living former prez?

No, actually. George The First is older than Carter by a few months.

Well, first James Brown and now Gerald Ford...not to be the voice of doom, but I wonder who number three's gonna be?

I've got a little list. They really won't be missed.

I thought the first was Peter Boyle.

The betting pool over at my journal says Castro.

It's clearly gonna be Saddam. (*insert rant here*) But Castro will be a close second.

We debated Saddam, but then decided that a pre-arranged death is not allowable by the rules of the Celebrity Death Triangle. It's gotta be random.

My immediate first thought? "...at the senseless age of 93."

Guess the wolves finally got him.

And as usual, I get my news from LiveJournal before any other source

I was actually a little surprised by this on the TV. I was watching the Kennedy Center Honors and they had this little, like tiny, bar across the screen announcing this. I would have thought it would have been a bigger deal then a little announcment, but I guess not.
All I could think was 'Thank goodness it was after Christmas'. :(

I was watching King of the Hill, and they actually interruppted the program to say it.

Okay, I've slept on it, and I'm still a little spooked. Last night I was watching the West Wing's Documentary Special from S3, in which they interview many political advisers and leaders, including President Ford, and I remember thinking, "Gee, there's really nothing bad you can say about Ford." And then I get on LJ, and BAM!

What sad news.

OK, this doesn't have anything to do with Ford, but if I wait to post it I'll forget... I got my copies of The Book (where "my copies" = "the copies I am going to give my sister and roommate for birthdays, but totally read first becaues I'm that sort of person") yesterday and it is HILARIOUS. HI. LARIOUS. Vengeful dolphins FTW. :) Also, "How to Make a Sci-Fi Disaster Movie" and "How to Make a Superhero Movie" cracked my shit up. Heeeeee. :)
