I'm going to go kick out and watch some DVDs, but if anyone has any Heroine Addict icon requests, leave 'em here so I can make some when I get back. I still have an outstanding Wonder Woman request, now that I think about it, and a few more Scully wouldn't hurt. Any others?

Also, if you would like to contribute your tale of wisdom tooth woe to The Definitive Wisdom Tooth Post, hit the comments here. It will be a document for the ages that we can refer scared patients to--or, you know, us sitting around and telling war stories, whatever. (Newcomers to the journal are welcome to comment.) A few things to keep in mind:

1. How old were you?
2. Did they grow in straight or sideways?
3. What was recovery like? What'd you use to get through it (meds, ice, over the counter stuff)?

And with that, I'm out. It's puddin' time.

Heroine addict request: Chicken Run. I love that movie and Ginger is just brilliant. So is Babs. And Bunty. And it would be odd and amusing, to me at least. And have you done Lizzie from Pride and Prejudice? She's pretty damn fine.

As for writer_girls - wot happens next? Do you have to make me a maintainer on the members' list, or do you maintain it as writer_girls?

Oo, good question. I don't know... I'll have to look that up in the FAQ or something. I got a wild hair on today to sort things into memories, although I didn't think to specify "poetry" or "fiction" for the critiques until I was nearly done. But I wanted to establish a few basic categories, so that's that.

I'm also curious about how to get new members--I think we need more people, just because you'll never have everyone participating at once, and we need to have more than two or three people responding to any given critique request. I've thought about a post in writer_ad_news, but... I don't know, what do you think?

Oh, and remember that word of the day-type freewrite we did really early on? Do you think that'd be a good idea to do daily? If so, I will totally turn that over to you. :)

All we need to know is here:

maintainership mystery revealed! (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=100)

I like your ideas. I like how you have so many of them. I don't remember the word of the day thing - it must have been before my time - but it sounds like a good idea. We could get up a couple of exercises for people to do, just to vary things a little.

I agree with the need to boost membership and I think this is your area of expertise. You know the places to be, the people to ask. So, I'm going to completely wriggle out of that one... :) No, seriously, it's a bit of a tricky issue, because you want people who are serious about writing and it's hard to find them sometimes.

In other news: wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hmm... we didn't do much before you got here. The word of the day thing is here--http://www.livejournal.com/community/writer_girls/2243.html--it's basically a freewrite exercise. You can use http://education.yahoo.com/college/wotd/, or your own choice, or mix it up, or whatever. You just get to be in charge of posting a word daily. Under memories, it'd be filed under 1) writing exercises and 2) word of the day. :)

Hmmm... I'll see about the membership thing. I probably need to write up something basic for the info page and set down a few rules--things I know in my head but haven't put down, like the definition of constructive criticism, etc.--before I invite more people over here.

I'm glad you asked about being a co-mod, though--that's my problem, I'm all ideas and not enough resources to carry them all out. :)

Oh, and email me at cleolinda @ hotmail.com to get the new maintainer password. I think I've changed that successfully.

No need - it worked perfectly. I have access to the community through Manage Communities under my own password. Huzzah!

Now to get onto this Word of the Day stuff...
