Oh my God, they are still here. It's eight pm and they are still here. You have to understand, I am awed by this--when I was down in the kitchen, I was told that they'd already finished about 85% of the roof. I think the roof elves may actually be going for the gold before they go home. All they're going to have to do in the morning is come back and clean up. I seriously can't believe this.

Someone's gettin' paid by the hour.

Well, on the bright side, aren't you glad you don't have their job?

Those are some wicked hard-working house elves. When it's time for bed, maybe you should give them clothes?

At this rate we're going to be stopping strangers in the street. "Hi, you don't know me, but these guys just replaced our entire roof in ONE DAY. Thought you should know--bye!"

Unfortunately, we live on a cul-de-sac so I don't think it'll do much good.

If there's a little centre island in the cul-de-sac, you could do a little memorial garden.

You should. It'd become a bizarre "pass it forward" kind of thing. Oprah would do a show about Random Acts of Roofing.

LOL! Hey, only one day of pounding as opposed to a week. You should leave the elves a cookie or something. ;D

Could your roof elves come fix my car? That'd be AWESOME.

Oh, man, LUCKY!

Two years ago part of my house was ruined by a fire. They just got the new roof on that part of the house about 2 months ago. So, yeah, 1 day, you are very very lucky.

Oh yeah, it's fine now.

Pretty new wallpaper and stuffs. I like it. They had everything but the roof done for about a year, we never really did figure out what the hell took so long to patch up a roof. xD

And here I was expecting it to take forever and be a huge disaster. Not that I'm complaining, I'm glad to hear things are going well :)

Leave some knobbly hats covered with shingles on the lawn.
If you love your roofers you have to set them free; then, if they come back to you, it means they did a shoddy job and you can't love them any more.

I'd say offer them soft drinks or iced tea, but they're probably gone by now.

My roof was done in a day, it was great. Minor gutter misplacement was the only problem.

I am stunned that they didn't have a very loud radio playing some obscure and bad music all day.

I had to have my entire roof stripped off and a new one put on. I have an attic filled with nails and dust now. Took them two days, one for the wood and one for the asphalt.

The owner is under inditement now for unsafe labor practices. They did a wonderful job tho. No one got hurt. I have a very steep roof.

It's always been suspended. LJ is very against FW, and any incarnation--feeds, even--is suspended as soon as it's discovered.

Thanks. Did you see the delicious spelling error in the caption of the picture about the spelling bee on the front page of NYTimes.com? Check it out fast before it goes away. (The word is 'nullipara', not 'ullipara'.)
