From [livejournal.com profile] trailer_spot: Second Pirates of the Caribbean trailer! There is a point where my mouth fell open in outrageous glee. See if you can figure out when it was.

>>"SUMMON THE KRAKEN!"<<

Meanwhile, I've been busy over here, which is where I've been. Today I'm having my TOTALLY TINY cavities filled, which should be totally tiny fun, let me tell you. And I've been writing a lot and (mostly) feeling good, although there has been some unpleasantness with a school paper. I have some linkspam, but I'm going to have to put that together this afternoon.

Heh. Did manage to catch a bit of Clash of the Titans on AMC the other night. Sure, it was stop-motion's final hurrah (and perhaps a howl or two of derisive laughter) but the owl kicked ass. It's good to not have to cower in fear that the PotC crew might come up with an inferior Kraken sequence, though.

And the less said about Harry Hamlin, though, the better.

My friend called me to inform me it would be on, and we made a night of it. The owl was like the bastard child of Pigwidgeon and R2-D2. ♥

As for Harry Hamlin--not bad from the neck down.

I assume you've heard about this already, but in case you haven't: More plagiarism accusations for Harvard author (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060502/ap_en_ot/young_author). I just can't figure out if we should place the blame on the ghostwriters, the author, or the publishing house. All 3 is probably best, though.

*squees* Oh, thanks for posting that PotC trailer! I am looking so forward to that movie, it'll probably be my summer entertainment highlight. Yeah, I'm pathetic. :-)

Good luck with your dentist appt. today and the paper! I didn't realize you were back in a school session. And glad to hear you're feeling well and getting a lot of writing done. In my life, those two things usually feed into each other.

So is it July yet? This trailer will appease the Pirate in me for a while, but not for two months!

I didn't think it was possible for me to be more excited about this movie, but then they bring in a supercool mythological monster. *flails*

YES, I second this statement. I didn't think it was possible to want to see this movie more but, I guess I was wrong XD. THAAAAANK you for the link Cleo my love.

Ooooooh, Jack/Elizabeth has me all aflutter! And I don't even like Elizabeth.

For some reason the movie reminds me of National Treasure -- you know, stuffed to the brim with random things that don't necessarily fit. But then, it'll probably be all the more cheesy and entertaining for it.

For me, it was the bit about how Jack happened to have an extra dress or two stashed in his quarters. My brain immediately vacated for a very odd place when that happened.

See, I thought he said he had "no dress," meaning "come to my cabin and get naked."

I also love the way squid-face bellows SPPAAAAAROOOOOOOOWWWW!!!! And the Kraken. And the whirly-ball thing. And the music and the crustaceo-man and shark-face and "no dress" and the whole goldurn thing. I love this trailer and I cannot WAAIT for the movie. (I don't often get "this" geeked out for a movie, but I do love POTC1 so very much.)

Well, that's Bill Nighy for you. ; )

I saw the first one in the theater three times--which is impressive, because a lot of times I'll want to see a movie and not even get to see it once, much less multiple times. And I was excited about this, but for some giddy reason, the kraken just pushed me over the edge. The Jack/Elizabeth (almost?) kiss was just nothing compared to the kraken. And then I ran and got my mother and didn't say a thing about it, just started the player, and she's all like, "OMG THEY HAVE A KRAKEN!" I come by it honestly, I guess.

Wait... what?

Kraken?

KRAKEN?!

As in colossal ginormous sea monster of Norwegian folklore (save for the brief stint on Clash of the Titans when it was inexplicably Greek)?

As in HONKING GIANT SQUID?!

Vidcaps, anyone? Anyone?

I mean, I knew about Bill Nighy as the oddly Cthulhoid Davy Jones, but...

I downloaded the trailer this morning before I went to class and it looks AMAZING! Forget the giant squid from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, this is the KRAKEN! Eep, reminiscent of Clash of the Titans as was mentioned before, but this one is much better. The idea of Davey Jones is awesome, I mean, he's ugly, but he's got hammerhead shark/fish goons and he can summon the Kraken. Holy crud.

My favorite line in the trailer other than "oh bugger":
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you have the chance to do the right thing."
Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

Captain Jack is most definitely back. :-D

Heeeeee.

Excited as hell for this. The Jack/Elizabeth is more confusing to me than anything, as right now I'm like, "OOH ADVENTURE! OOH CREEPY CREATURES FROM THE DEEP! OOOOHHH!"

OMGWTF ENT!!!
